WoodSpring Suites Amarillo East I-40

We requested a handicap room, which ended up being on the 3rd floor. There was an elevator, but you can't always use an elevator in an emergency, so there were no good options for escape if needed. The floor was sticky from a spill, and it took 45 minutes for someone to come clean it. The kitchen had no dishes, cooking ware, utensils, dish soap or anything. For a "recently renovated" location, it was not at all impressive. The TV didn't work, and after seven unanswered calls to the desk, we just gave up. The "handicap" shower was a step-in bathtub, but the rest of the bathroom was ADA compliant. The mattresses were adequate, but the linens were poor quality. The parking lot was not well-lit, the neighborhood didn't appear too safe, as confirmed by the shooting and emergency vehicles in the parking lot at 3:00 a.m...... We won't be staying at this one in Amarillo again, and will be hesitant to try WoodSprings again.

I stayed here as a solo traveler for two nights visiting Palo Duro state park. it was a very good rate in my room had refrigerator, microwave, and burner tops on the stove just bring your own pans. The water temperature in the bathroom did not get above lukewarm, but I offset it with the cost and other amenities. Lots of strange people traffic coming in the back doors through the night, but as a solo traveler, I offset this as well.

Very clean and smelled good. Easy parking. Easy and fast check in. Loved that it was all key carded and no one could just walk in.

I was traveling for business and checked in just a few min before 10 pm. No one was there. I called like 10 times and didn’t feel safe waiting (female) with a bunch of Hispanic males watching so I left!

Upon arrival the manager checked me in he was rude very argumentative. Told me he has been at work for days as if it was my fault. As soon as I got into my room I had to head to work that night. When I got back to my room I could tell someone had been in it none of my things were missing but the lights were on and I had them off. The maintenance man was a creep every time I stepped out of my room he was in my vacinty. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe as if he was watching me I’m a female travel nurse and I travel a lot by myself never ever have I felt this unsafe in a hotel. There’s a lot of prostitution going on at this hotel it’s unsafe for single female travelers and families be aware if you choose to stay. There was never anyone at the front office they have a phone your suppose to reach someone on it’s rare they answer in a timely manner. I asked for towels etc and got a very rude attitude. One morning I was awakened by the maintenance man beating on my door yelling rent is due as if it was some apartment complex. This made me even more uncomfortable I tried to explain to him I already paid he became aggressive and argumentative I had to call Expedia then all the sudden he found where I had paid I don’t appreciate the harassment or the game playingVery unprofessional I guess they keep the wrong people staying there so there used to handling people unprofessionally. I will not be staying again in the future due to the issues I encountered and the unprofessionalism

The building looks new or recently remodeled. Very clean and comfortable. The location is super convenient. However, there was a lot of foot traffic on the frontage road in front of the hotel that made the parking area feel unsafe for your property. Because this was a stopover for a long road trip, we didn’t feel comfortable leaving much stuff in the car. We were relieved to wake in the morning with all car windows intact.

Good for Budget overnight stay or extended stay traveling workers. Basic amenities (no hand towels, shampoo or hair dryer, bring your own cooking equipment). Secure access with room key only past check in window.
