Clarion Hotel & Suites Fairbanks near Ft. Wainwright

I traveled to Fairbanks for a three day conference being held at the west Mark comma, but the room rate at the Westmark was significantly higher than the Clarion suites which is literally across the street and two houses down. The Clarion property is definitely older and shows its age in many places; however, the room was very clean and very spacious. The beds were fairly comfortable, though the pillows were not. The bathroom had everything I needed, including great, hot water and shower pressure. The hotel staff were always super friendly and helpful and I really appreciate it Thim. All in all, it is a great alternative to the more common Westmark when staying in perfect.

The hotel is worn with stains on the carpets, smells in the elevator, dark outdated furniture. They advertise shuttle service but we were left at the train station when we arrived because "they didn't have a driver". We had to Uber and they did not offer to cover the cost. When we tried to schedule our transportation to the airport, we again heard they didn't have a driver even with 24 hours notice. They did find an asst manager to take us but you felt like a bother.

Room was comfortable and clean. There were lots of dining options within a walkable distance. There's also a shuttle for airport transportation.

Breakfast was very nice, good selections. Decore was old, but room was clean. Staff was great, sent the shuttle to pick us up at 12:30 am.

Never made it and having a hard time getting a refund even after buying insurance. The snow was to great to travel

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is not fancy, but it was exactly what we needed. We got a room with a kitchenette, which was super convenient and saved us a lot of money. They offer a free shuttle, but it runs certain hours of the day, so you need to call ahead for it to reserve and it’s not guaranteed. That said, it worked out for us even with an after midnight arrival and departure. The parking is right on site, and we had no problem finding space. They have outlets to plug in your car during the winter to preserve the battery. They did not provide daily room service, but we didn’t need it, and I think you can get service upon request. All in all, a comfortable budget place.

Breakfast was very good and was nice having restaurant in hotel Chris was are server and very nice . Make sure you make a your Hotel shuttle request 24 hour in advance or transportation will not be available .we did not have a car for our stay a thought we could depend on shuttle from train station at 8pm on a Saturday NOPE !!! That was my only issue

Airport shuttle service was great. The shuttle driver was really great, she gave us lots of great recommendations for dining and activities. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast

The Clarion Suites was a nice stay. It is an older hotel but it was very clean. Any time we needed towels or coffee for our stay they were quick to provide. My only complaint is the shuttle. I called the day before we were arriving to book. The lady at the desk took info and said they would be there by 10:30. When we arrived and got oyr luggage, I called. Suppose to be on the way. We had to wait for an hour before he came. He did take us through a fast food to get lunch because we had a tour picking us up at the hotel at 12:15. Today we were catching the train. I talked to the lady at the desk yesterday when we came in. She told me to call back in an hour to make sure the shuttle would be available. I called and she had us down for 4 of us and our bags at 7. We were in the lobby at 7. The shuttle left with the first load and came back. Picked up another load and came back. We dod not get yo the train station until 8. Dont count on the shuttle.

Travel in winter with no car, this won't be the great choice. It's quite sm blocks away from foods, shops & cafe. But there's ubers, taxi, delivery that can be done. The room is spacious, has utensils, kitchetnetts & little electric stove, but it's quite dark esp. I got the 1st fl which I preferred not to open the curtain. There's also sm pipe or drain noise problem all days long (don't know about others). Water pressure with that shower head they got is 👎👎
