Best Western Plus Monterey Inn

Upon arrival, the front desk staff immediately greeted me with a smile and a "welcome"! I wish I would have gotten each of their names but everyone from front desk staff to the ladies in the breakfast area were very pleasant and accommodating. The room we first checked into had a faulty TV so they quickly got us into a new room and helped us move our luggage. Easy parking, quick wifi, convenient location, very comfortable beds...it's a great hotel! Do note that this location does not have AC. It didn't matter because the weather was so pleasant but just something to know because I didn't see anything about this when I booked.

NO AIR CONDITIONING! We traveled to the area for a convention during a wonderful heat wave. My colleague's room reached 83 degrees on the third floor, while mine was a little lower at 80. There was a sign at the entrance that said no air conditioning, but we thought it would be ok in the evening, but it was not. I spent hours on the phone with Hotels.com to change hotels, and the first person I spoke to for over an hour was about to change the room, and then we got cut off. I called Hotels.com again, and this time, I reached a different person who was not helpful at all!! I spent 1.5 hours on the phone, and he said Best Western would not cancel the reservation and he could only offer a $75 credit. This while I could hear chickens in the background, how unprofessional. When I spoke to the Best Western hotel staff, they emphatically said they told Hotels.com they WOULD cancel the reservation at no charge. So apparently, the "supervisor" at Hotels.com (I was told so) decided not to change the hotel. He would not give me his employee ID. We spend probably close to $100,000 annually with Hotels.com, and this is the service we get! Time to move on to another brand!

Was a life saver finding such a nice and convenient place at last minute. We had just hastily checked out of substandard hotel. We had bikes on the car rack - the BW staff let us bring them to room because parking was tight yet very accessible. We extended our initial booking and keep same room. Sólidos!!!

Lovely, reasonably priced hotel in a convenient location. Only a 10 min walk to the coast and another few minutes to Fisherman Wharf. The rooms are large with plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed. The room and bathroom were clean. The free breakfast provided lots of choice both hot and cold.Free tea and coffee throughout the day in reception. Free parking available underneath the hotel. All staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed from Saturday to Tuesday. Clean and simple. The included breakfast was nice. Hot, fresh food every morning. The surrounding area is peaceful, with less traffic but not far away from the old fisherman’s wharf, Trader Joe’s, and various restaurants. The room is plenty spacious for a family of 3 or 4. The included parking is easy to get to. Staff is friendly. We had an all around pleasant stay. Would stay again.

Nice place, reasonably close to Cannery Row (by car) and walking distance to a nice area with restaurants. Free parking. Staff was very nice. Enjoyed hot tub but wish they would improve the lighting there; it was just one spot light shining in my eyes, not the best for a nice ambience. Pancake machine kept running out of batter every day but at least it was free breakfast. May consider staying there again.

I have nothing but good things to stay about our stay here. The front desk staff were so friendly and accommodating. The parking was easy and plentiful. There is tea and coffee always available in the lobby. The room was clean and had a sliding door with a screen, for fresh bug free air. The beds and pillows were super comfy. I didn’t hear a single noise during the night. There was a wonderful ceiling fan, which I think should be mandatory in all hotel rooms. The sink was separate from the toilet and shower, which makes sharing a room so much easier. There was plenty of hot water. The cooked breakfast was yummy. A couple of our group said the coffee was bad. I don’t drink coffee (it always tastes bad to me), so I’d say this place was perfect with no room for improvement. The Best Western will now always be my first choice when staying in Monterey.

Perfect location! Close to beach and across the street to Mountain Mikes and gas station. Free Breakfast in the morning eggs and bacon are the paper like foods but cereal and fruit, oatmeal, milk is much appreciated when traveling with kids! Over all comfy beds and good location!

The front receptionist was so kind and was just overall outstanding! My sister had an encounter with him while I was parking and when I met her in our room she was raving about the amazing concierge. I don't say this lightly but it was clear that he enjoyed his job and went out of his way to help my sister who is disabled and to share condolences as we were here for a funeral. 10/10. Room was very clean, as was the property and the beds were soo soft. The only thing I'd change is if the room had a bath and not just a shower. Otherwise I really enjoyed our stay here!
