This is a really good hotel - the rooms are spacious, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the views are great and the location is really convenient. We also liked the fact that a small additional fee covered our parking and free breakfast for the family. Note that the hotel is divided into multiple buildings within the same complex and some of the buildings don't have an elevator to get to the second floor.

Clean, spacious and bright rooms. Loved the fireplace option for those chilly nights. The $20 amenity fee, although steep, was worth it alone since it pretty much covered daily parking and breakfast so you can view the pool/spa and glass of wine as an added bonus.

Everything was perfect from the continental breakfast to the parking. You feel like you are at an oasis instead of the middle of town.

As we travel for business employees need to get receipts for expenses! They keep telling us because its a 3rd party like expedia or hotels.com they can't do it. Ouch!

Very convenient and walkable to shops and restaurants in Monterey. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Ample parking. If I would change anything for future stay I’d reserve a room not on bottom floor but room was nice, clean and had everything we needed. Great breakfast as well!

Safety doors did not work, room door latch broken, hallway carpet GROSS, parking expensive and tight. Confused about 3.5?star rating. Should be 2.5 maybe 3

Hotel is in a good location near the Wharf. Ample parking lot with a clean pool and spa. Rooms are fine, CLEAN and neat. Shower was hot and clean! Lounge area has a bar and serves food (we did not eat dinner just had drinks. Free breakfast was included that is a great perk and it was clean and tidy self serving food. Lots of options eggs, oatmeal, bagels and everything in between. Everyone we encountered was NICE and pleasant to talk to. Local area has restaurants with in walking distance. In a very last minute trip I searched 7 places in Monterey, and Hotel Abrego had the best reviews at a very fair price and overall prices in area with the same ratings.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the “hotel.” Honestly, it felt like a small step higher then a Travel Lodge. I had read that rooms had been updated…yes they were…years ago. All areas had very dim lighting, a musty smell, seemed run down and dated. I had reserved a deluxe room w/queen. The room was awful. First, it was on the first floor. The door pretty much opened into the parking area and there was NOTHING deluxe about it. Being that I was by myself (female), I honestly didn’t feel safe with staying in the room. The parking area where the door opened up to was not secure to those not staying at the hotel. Anyone from the street could walk right on to the property and up to your door or window. I went to the front desk and requested a different room which they did accommodate. Note, the gentleman at the front desk no personality! The room I was switched to was slightly more deluxe then the first one (if you could call it that). You could clearly see the room had not been vacuumed. The carpet had stains, as did the lampshades. Bedding had hair on it. I slept in my clothes on top of the comforter I was so grossed out. Note, the walls are thin, the different floors have a very strange layout and if your anywhere near the pool, it’s loud. I almost didn’t stay and was so close to making the four drive home. The only saving grace was the complimentary glass of wine at happy hour and the awesome bar tender. I definitely needed it in order to stay the night there.

It was very nice. For the first time in a long time I thought the hotel was worth my money. There was no “deposit” when I checked in they didn’t charge for parking and they had free breakfast. that was actually GOOD. Will stay here again

The room was clean and very quiet. The room was spacious. A microwave was added upon request. The property and area around the property felt safe. There was plenty of free parking. The breakfast options were good. The sink in the room did not have much counter space around it. The hotel was clean and well-kept.
