Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort South Beach

This is the worst stay I have had in years anywhere. Stay away. Outdated rusty rooms. Deteriorating balcony. Broken door frames. Despicable parking with stairs to get to room. No working showers from beach to property. Dark and dim everywhere. Only two lights worked in room reliably. Poor customer service at front desk. Blame computers for everything. Couldn’t accommodate early check in even an hour early and didn’t know if I could extend my stay on day one. They said check in before 11 on checkout day. I am glad I didn’t extend my stay at this horrible place. Pool was gross and the pictures as it looks online is clearly misrepresented. Please avoid this place at all costs.

The parking was tight going and coming to each levels

After reading the reviews I had low expectations but after arriving, the parking was great, room was clean and everything worked also at a great price!! Two tumps up!

Overall its a good place to sleep and shower its a great location but the building is showing wear due to high occupancy and the smell of pot and rooms that could use a little more disinfectant are my dislikes but my wife always recleans a room herself before we settle in, amenities are ok kids liked the lazy river and all rooms are ocean front .I could see somebody with a walking disability having a few problems getting around as steps are every where in parking deck and can only access on lobby and ground floor.

This is the second time we have stayed here, and we will continue to stay here. It is away from all the hustle and bustle of the crowd. The only thing that needs work is the parking deck and that's not on the hotel it's on the people staying there they need to learn how to park their vehicles in more convenient places for the size of their vehicle.

The staff were very rude, stove didn’t work, lock on door was not secure. The halls were dirty and the toilet seat had small holes on it. The parking was convenient and it was nice being right on the beach. No extra toilet paper, no extra clean towels.

Staff was very polite and apologetic for things beyond their control. I went without TV for my 2 night stay as I didn't want to change rooms for 1 night after unpacking and having a convenient parking spot. The staff tired to accommodate but it was simply out of their control. Higher management/owners need better/updated renovations as their current attempt was sub-par (a lot of chipped paint). But as I always say " you get what you pay for"

Definitely older property, could use some upgrades... Great parking garage. Staff was very friendly.

parking garage was a disaster too tight and parking spaces blocked ppl from coming in and out. staff was helpful for the most part they weren’t exactly efficient but they did get us what we needed. toilet and faucet drain weren’t in good condition, i fixed the toilet myself and removed the disgusting build up in the drain— that wasn’t allowing any water to go down. 1/2 lamps and all pots and pans were gone upon arrival and didn’t get returned; therefore we couldn’t cook or bake anything on the kitchenette we paid more for. kitchenette and fridge were clean, beds were made, stain-free, and bug free, they did have hairs in them that made me question if they actually cleaned the sheets before our stay. balcony was in decent condition(tears in ground, grime on walls) but the view was unbeatable. the elevators weren’t clean and usually sopping wet from people coming in and out from the pool. the pool was usually crowded and loud, sometimes dirty but they did clean it a few times daily. the pool bar was great and they were very efficient and friendly; the grill attached served great poolside food and were also very fast. overall great stay if your willing to clean a little bit before you unpack for your stay.

We were in a suite to get a coffee maker but had to go buy one instead. There were no carts to move luggage into our room & about 6 steps up to the elevator from the parking. The rooms were okay but not fantastic, small balcony, but the beds were comfy. When asking for a coffee maker the front desk lady said they couldn’t guarantee a coffee maker for each room even tho it was advertised that way. We requested 2 extra towels the second day & they said they’d send them up, they never did. The lazy River was very cold. Someone or several people was always smoking pot near us cause the place stank of it. The last night there was a group came in about 2 am very loud & drunk
