The shuttle to pick us up was an hour in a half late and whenever we would call to see where they were the guy we spoke with was unbelievably rude. Once we finally got picked up it took another 45 minutes to get back to the hotel because we had to pick up 3 more guests which we were not aware of having to do. I could not believe how bad the customer service was with the shuttle service. Once we got to the hotel there was one person working at the desk and it took another 30 minutes to get checked in and the guy at the desk was not very nice as well. The rooms were disgusting and I did not enjoy my stay. We would never plan to stay there again.

The hotel offers free shuttle service from La Guardia to the hotel. This is the only plus. Continental breakfast was headache as they only have one toaster oven and you have to wait in one long line to use it. The beds in the room are placed in such a way that when you open the door ut doesn't open all the way. The bed blocks it.

So, I travel a lot, usually 10-12 days per month during my busy season, and I stay at a lot of airport transit hotels. I know they're heavily trafficked, and can be a bit run down because of it. The Landing, however, easily made my top ten list of the most dreadful hotels I've ever stayed at. Here's a quick rundown:
1) Sheets were not changed before my stay. I know that because of the gig hairball I found in my bed.
2) My room, don't ask me why, smelled very strongly of urine.
3) Bar was closed, but a bunch of locals sat around the bar drinking and blasting tunes on high (my room happened to be right next to the bar
4) Took me 40 minutes to check in, because the 3 people checking in in front of me had their reservations lost by the hotel.
5) No Hot water. A cold shower at a hotel is not a good thing.
Oh, and the room was $145.00 a night. I've stayed at cleaner Travellodges for $40 a night.
So, like my title says- don't do it. Just don't do it. Some businesses just don't get it. This is one of them.

I can see there's going to be a lot of renos in the future due to age of facility. Location great being next to airport and an express bus through the airport to Subway line at Astoria, or staying on till you hit the Harlem area and another subway stop. Noise from airport not a factor. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Cost effective but prepare for an hour travel to get to the heart of Manhattan.

I only spend about 3 hours in my room since it was a very short layover but didn't sleep well due to the air conditioner. As a former flight attendant, I have stayed in MANY hotels. I have never heard an air conditioner quite like this one. Was so loud and kept making all kinds of weird noises that woke me up often. This may have been just a problem with this one room though so cannot judge the whole hotel by it. Plus, if you went when AC wasnt needed would have been fine. I would try it again. It VERY handy to the LGA airport, just a 5 minute ride. Staff was friendly & helpful.
Room was very small but didn't need any space for just an overnight stay.

Close to airport. Old and kind of gross bathrooms but clean, if that makes sense. Shuttle driver was awesome with a great attitude. Got a deal for the night and it was worth it. Crashed and caught a plane. Great hotel for that purpose.

When I travel, my hotel is just a place to sleep well, clean up, recharge my electronics, and perhaps grab a bite of breakfast before I'm on the go again. Everything else I do somewhere else. This hotel fit the bill: clean and convenient. There's both shuttle and MTA bus access to the airport, and those same MTA buses connect to all the major lines leading into Manhattan (give yourself around an hour to get to Midtown from this hotel via MTA). My only complaint is that while most of the hotel has been renovated, the air conditioning system in each room is still quite dated: noisy and hard to set the right temperature. It didn't cause issues for me personally (I curled up in the comfortable bed and slept just fine), but it is worth noting to those who might find it bothersome.
