Three night stay with family was excellent, nice hotel close to the airport and Astoria area. The airport shuttle service is excellent and wait time was less than five min. The reception desk staff are excellent and very friendly.

Stayed 2 days between ship and air back to California. This is the worst Marriott property I've stayed in. No hot water on day 2. Bathroom sink clogged both days. Dark, dingy room. The black carpet doesn't help the ambiance and makes it easy to lose things you cannot see. The only bright spot was the shuttle driver who took us to La Guardia early.

My shower started off not working properly with the water pressure dropping every couple of second, then to full pressure. Then on the last day, a travel day, I had no hot water

10 minute walk to subway. Breakfast options were great! Complimentary shuttle to/from the airport was appreciated.

Be aware you MUST have parking paid for prior to arrival to secure a spot. I drove in from hours away to find out there was no parking for my car, and staff threw their hands up and said "what you want me to make a parking spot out of thin air?". Rude and not helpful at all.

Be advised there are rooms in the basement. And it feels like a basement with tiny windows near the ceiling that you can’t see out. I felt really uncomfortable and requested another room. The second room had a terrible odor – a combination of body odor, cologne and someone trying to cover up the smell of smoke. I was reluctant to ask for yet another room, so I went to the front desk just to let them know about the smell, but they were willing to give me a third room. In forty years of travel, I don’t believe I’ve ever felt the need to ask for a different room, so this was odd. That being said, the staff were lovely. The woman who tended to the breakfast buffet was so meticulous about keeping everything spotless – if I owned a restaurant I would have hired her on the spot. Front desk people were lovely and patient, and the shuttle driver was very kind. The location really worked for me, but I would not return.

We arrived at 5:20 pm with a reservation and was told our room was no ready and had to wait another hour or so u determined. This with a 3pm check in and paying for parking.
