Astoria Inn LaGuardia hotel

I liked the neighborhood. I used to live here. The hotel is in a good location and they have a convenient parking garage.

No coffee machine but instant coffee and a water heater? No. TV barely worked with weird channel #s and zero premium content. To be fair the guy at the front desk was considering putting us in another room before we got the TV working. Lobby features elevator decal of The Golden Gate Bridge. Other guests look like unpaid extras from Barfly.

Clean, convenient parking, friendly service

I needed something that was conveniently located near the Steinway factory and also had secure parking. Play was clean, staff was kind, and the parking garage is locked.

Easy check in. Nothing special. Room was good for the price. I just needed a place where to sleep a bit before my next flight, and the room did the job.

I made a huge error in considering the price and unrealistic pictures when reserving this hotel. It was relatively close to my niece and that was it. The entire neighborhood was an Arabic stronghold, Hooka lounges everywhere, filth on the streets, noisy, and most signs in Arabic. if this is your preference and culture, fine. The hotel was old, and not kept up well. NYC was hot and very humid. When I arrived, the room was fairly cool and later when I returned after dinner it was very warm at 78-79 degrees. I asked at the desk and the clerk informed me it was fine as the "engineer was on the roof repairing the A/C". This was not true. Same for the second day. Very hot in the room thus not able to sleep well for 2 of the 3 nights reserved. I decided to leave the morning of the 3rd day as opposed to trying to sleep there and the clerk lied again that the engineer had repaired it. I was given a credit for the 3rd night+20% for the previous two days. This entire debacle caused me to cut my vacation with my niece by a day as I had traveled all the way from west Texas. A total waste of money. I would not walk by self in that neighboorhood at night.

I arrived at midnight , tired and exhausted to a pleasant looking room. When lights are out, felt strangeness about the bed, curtains and walls. Sprang up and used my portable UV light to discover they need a deeper cleaning regime. Dust mites and fungal presence detected. I rshortly checked out and left for the airport 6 hours before my flight.

My son lives a few blocks from the hotel so i have been to the area many times. They have cracked down on the number of Air BnB options in the area so other than staying in a room in someone's house, this is the best option. They recently updated some things in the hotel to make it a little nicer. The rooms are clean. Nothing fancy, but they have what you need. There were times when I didn't get in until 1 am but there was always someone at the desk which felt safe. This is Queens, not Manhatten, so the area is not as fancy or manicured, itnis busy with people who live in the area. This is a real neighborhood area, not a tourist area. I am a 64 year old woman and have traveled there alone and have never felt unsafe. The people are very nice. They are New Yorkers so they keep to themselves, but they are very supportive and nice. Lots of food options on 30th, just a few blocks away. Easy walk to the subway and you can ride to Time Square, Central Park, Manhattan or any place you want to go. Astoria Park is nearby and very nice. The Ditmar area has a lot of shopping.

I came in late from my flight at LGA. I wanted somewhere to stay for one night. I enjoyed my stay here. Room was decent and clean

Well located friendly staffed boutique hotel right off the BQE. Indoor parking next door for only $20 was a big plus. Simple, but clean and well managed and reasonably priced hotel.
