Best Western Plus Sanford Airport/Lake Mary Hotel

This hotel was perfectly located for my cancelled flight at SFB. There were plenty of places to grab a quick meal, and it served it's purpose.

When I booked my room I told them I needed a5 am shuttle to the airport. When I checked in I mentioned the 5 am shuttle again and was told no problem be down here in the lobby by 4:50 am I was there about 4:35 am to be told the shuttle was full. I had to pay a private guy who was “ by coincidence” there with a mini van 20.00 for a trip to the airport.

The hotel was not clean and extremely dated. The only reason we stayed was because it was late and we had a very early flight.

We needed a hotel close to the airport for one night, I grabbed it quick as the photos looked good. I really should have done my due diligence, and I wouldn’t have stayed there. Bedding was clean. Towels were clean but that’s about it. We actually got our travel wipes out and wiped down surfaces and the headboard which had many handprints and perhaps even some leftover bodily fluids that landed there. Bathroom appeared fine but, to the side of the vanity and below it were filthy. If I hadn’t have already paid online, I have left and went elsewhere.

It’s a long story. Caught by the July 19th computer glitch. 2 rooms, supposedly 2 queen beds in each. Needed an extra bed in one room. Accommodating night manager upgraded that room to a king suite to allow for the extra bed. Next morning, manager came unglued at my daughter. I went down and after several tense minutes, manager agreed to comp both nights. Checkout was very confusing, as they had me in the wrong room and it took the early desk clerk extra time to produce receipts. Location was great, very close to Sanford airport and decent dining options. With the exception of the evening manager who checked us in, (I had a party of seven), and the morning clerk when I checked out, the desk staff needs to seriously evaluate their people skills. You face customers, THEY are the reason YOU are there. Sort problems out privately and offer your guests the best possible impression.

Fantastic condition. Clean and pleasant. Quiet. I have never met a more enthusiastic and friendly staff. I have been looking for my go to place for business travel in the area and I have found my home.

Close to airport

I did not make it to the hotel due to the global software outage and my flight getting delayed then cancelled. I called the hotel and was told I had to call Expedia. Expedia said they would refund my money and that they were just waiting on the hotel to release the funds. The hotel now refuses to release the funds and travel insurance refuses to cover the cost. Very unprofessional to agree to a refund then back out.

This hotel is so close to being great. It really needs a good, deep clean. Especially the floors. It just has a general run-down vibe. However, the beds were super comfy!!! And the pillows were heaven. The shower was hot, though a bit slow and the water didn’t drain. The breakfast was excellent, though the area needs updating. The food was really good with lots of great choices. It served our purposes of being close to the airport with a free shuttle. Good price for good sleep and a very nice breakfast. Just don’t expect the Ritz.

Staff here are very accommodating and helpful! Bed was very comfortable And hot water in shower awesome. We have stayed at more expensive places Over the years and not been treated as well as we have here! Give your desk staff and Gary the driver for airport a raise!!
