Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina

Very well appointed hotel. Free ahuttle service to and from the airport in addition to two local restaurants on either end of the island where the hotel sits. Great amenities, wonderful food choices and the staff could n I tbjave been nicer. Highly recommended!!

Arrived and was informed we were to be put in a different building 1/2 mile down the road, wasn’t aware they had a number of sites and had choose this hotel because we’d be told it had be recently renovated to a high standard. They said we could stay in the renovated building if we paid and extra $75 dollars. Which we did, thankfully having subsequently read the reviews of other building. But it felt like we’d been shaken down. Overall the new hotel was lovely, the facilities were super nice too. The room was ideal for a one night stay prior to an early flight. Great views too.

I would have given a 5 star overall, but parking prices are insane.

The tactic of charging a resort fee that is not part of the nightly fee is sleezy and criminal. Common sense says its wrong. This is what a greedy hotel chain looks like. It is a beautiful marina and great location next to airport. There is no need to install crappy marketing techniques if the hotel believed it was worth the price it is charging. Leaves a negative feeling that has caused me to definitely try to find a different hotel next time. Hope you make a change to think about how every aspect of staying at your hotel will be a positive outcome to the customer. Hope this input helps in some way. Thank you

Early morning flight the next day.

Great place to stay over for an early morning flight. Would actually make a good relaxing short stay also. Right next to the marina and airport, with great views across the bay. Very nice hotel and room. In room catering fast and delicious.

I checked in around 10 pm, I was tired and I was checking out around 5 am the following day. When I walked into the room the TV was already on very loud, the tv remote didn't work , I couldn't turn it off, I couldn't lower the volume, not even manually. I called guest services , he said that he was going to send someone to fix, Then we noticed in the restroom there was a water leak, there was was water on the floor, I called again, maintenance showed up and said you need another room. I called guest service again and requested another roof , he told me that he needed to talk to the manager, and that he was going to call me back.He never called me back, I went to front desk and I got another room. The room was not clean, dirty towel and tissue was in the bathroom. I couldn't call from the room because buttons from the phone were missing. My wife went to front desk an we were moved again, this time to room # 1083, no issues with this room . I took pictures of all the issues to report them. I was not expecting having this problem neither the non response from guests services. They comp the resort fee and self parking total $ 78.30. I will stay again here again.

The property was great, however the parking was not as they had several events that night. So upon check in we had to park far and walk back up to the hotel with our luggage and stuff. Keep in mind no shuttle was provided.

The property and rooms were clean. The hotel staff was great (friendly, professional), but there seemed to be a significant understaffing issue. At check, I had to wait much too long because there were only two people behind the counter. I then called to order room service in the am. I was bounced for what felt like an eternity. I finally hung up and called back. She transferred me again but alas I got to someone who could take my order. Unnecessary frustration and wasting time are two of my least favorite things.

Refused to grant request to cancel when I contacted Expedia and asked hotel help as I attempted to cancel and maybe due to Microsoft issue it fails to confirm. I was forced to keep reservation or pay anyway. Brought family two days later and at check I ask again to cancel. Check in guy comments how many nurses they have been turning away past two days and that day! I asked for NOTHING , no upgrades etc just said I hope we can just have a nice night and make the most of this hundreds of dollars we paid when we just want to drive home but we will hopefully have a nice relaxing afternoon and sleep etc . There was no upgrade offered which is totally okay- what we got was a downgrade . Wow …Spent $$$ on dinner at property. Woke up to the most disgusting view of a parking lot and construction and the sounds were so loud of the construction digging , drilling, hammering etc that I couldn’t have my scheduled zoom in the room . In light of all the nurses they turned away while refusing to just cancel our UNNECESSARY trip I would give this property a zero if I could for bad business and inhospitable practices.
