Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites South Bend, an IHG Hotel

We stayed for two nights for the Notre Dame game. Everything is clean and functional, which is important to us. Breakfast was great. It's even better that it has a shuttle service to the game.

That bed was a trainwreck. Too soft and worn. My husband and I could not get in and out of it. I opted for the foot of the bed and he slept on the little couch. Also, the bathroom counter was too small or no where to put my travel bag in the bathroom. The bedroom was spacious enough but a lot of wasted space.

The hotel was ok ....the main reason i booked it is because they advertise they have a spa tub well they dont. It appears they were trying to repair walls since some are half painted or patched and you can see the different colors of paint when you are paying around $200 per night you expect better than this .... also the parking lot is small so if towing anything you wont fit... I would not recommend this hotel with so many others in the area its too pricey for what you get

Noisy/lots of fighting, tight parking, not clean sheets For pullout bed, didn’t get the right room

Breakfast was typically excellent, way better than Residence Inn. Room was clean, tidy, comfortable Noisy party, got out of control, police were called, hauled one guy away Only useable entry is the front door and parking is very limited and tight, back lot is inconvenient

I drive a truck, so once a week I have to take 36 hrs off. I booked a 1 room suite,for 2 days. it has a king bed and a queen bed and is roomy. When I got here at 10 30, there was no reservation. Don't know if thats expedias fault ot this place. The front desk lady, VERY NICE AND SMART, fiqured it out for expedia and got me a room, However the room I reserved wasn't available. SO I took another room, It;s 1130 now. THis morning I booked the same large room as I had to continue my 36 hrs. I was told they would call me when it was ready. I called at 1045 and askee about the room. He put me on hold and talked to the house keeper. Told me to come down with my stuff and he would change the rooms and it was on the 1st floor. The one I ordered is on the 3rd floor. So I went with out all my stuff to view the room. I eas told iit was larger than the one I am in. Well it wasnt, not even close. So I told him about the reservation and he said I couldn't have reserved that room as it was already reserved. Expedia, Holdiday Inn at fault who knows. I asked before I made the reservation about parking and hot tub. I was told the hot tub was working. THere is no hot tub.. I wanted to wash a weeks worth of clothes but my room key won't work on the pool or the laundry. I have to get the front desk guy EACH time I need to enter the laundry or the pool so he can open it up. I blocked the door on the laundry but can't on the pool. Won't stay here again, Not a Holiday Inn, my opinion.

You can tell this is an older property. The carpet in the stairwells were stained and dirty. The parking lot has lots of trash, cigarette butts and candy wrappers right up to the front entrance. The parking lots were not very well lit in the back. It’s on a main drag near a hospital so lots of ambulance sirens. The carpet in our room was not very clean and it looks like they replace part of it near the couch in a shade that didn’t match the original. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Overall it worked but is being neglected a bit.

Fan broke told them room hot without it pull out bed broke uncomfortable hot tub has not been operating since 2019 per maintenance guy the main reason we picked here it’s not 5 min walk to campus it’s 5 min drive to outer edge people smoking weed out front of hotel felt unsafe outside at night and in parking lot staff is very nice but a lot of things broke and they said they would order pool was nice breakfast was good until the scrambled eggs I about threw up water damage in our room in bathroom ac in 1 part of room fan in another fan was broke sweat all night would not stay here again very dissatisfied again staff was very nice and welcoming cops were there also you could smell weed in hallways
