La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham South Bend near Notre Dame

Very nice hotel and a perfect stay. The area is just a little run down. Outside our window is another motel type place that looks really rough. And in between an old parking lot. Not the hotels fault but the other motel looks like a place where drugs and hookers might be. Really rough. But this place is great! Breakfast and room service maids were great. Very clean and very easy to get in and out.

The lights from the parking lot shined in on the ceiling all night. The room was never dark. A room darkening shade would have fixed this problem which you have obviously heard about before.

All good! Only disappointment was when I called and asked if they had shuttle service to airport! They said 24 hour. When I checked in we decided on a 5.30 am departure. When I went to check out they told me they don't have a shuttle. Frustrating 2 different people told they had shuttle services

Our check-in went smoothly. The room rate was affordable and the accommodations were clean. I loved that coffee was available any time of day or night. The hotel was located close to Notre Dame campus so we were able to tour the college after checking in. It was also close to the South Bend Airport so we were able to grab a continental breakfast before heading to the airport for our morning flight. The only complaint we had was that the TV in the workout facility was not connected to cable so we were unable to access music or any programs while working out.

This is a gem of a hotel. The property is attractive and well-maintained but the cost is very reasonable. I stayed here twice while traveling home for Christmas. The staff honored my requests for a quiet room. The rooms were both attractive with exceptionally comfortable beds. They have refrigerators and microwaves, making it possible for me to bring the food I need for my special diet. I didn’t try breakfast, but I think I could have found enough to eat. The bathroom mirrors had a soft, diffuse light that was really flattering. I appreciated the countertop with plenty of room for toiletries. They provide a comfortable desk and two chairs for sitting. There was also a black out curtain in my second room, although not in my first. Because you can see into the rooms from outside, that should be fixed. The only other downsides I found were that the showers don’t have a shelf to place items. I had to put things on the floor outside the door. But they do provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The shower floor looked stained but clean. Also, the heater filter looked like it had never been cleaned. I’ve never seen one so dirty. But overall, a shoutout to Sam, the person who cleans and makes up the rooms. Everything else was great. The neighborhood was not the greatest, but I never felt unsafe. The hotel is on a busy street but there’s a light accessible for left turns, which is really handy. If I need an overnight stay in South Bend again, this will be my first choice.

Excellent comfortable place that is very clean, easy to reach off of the interstate, well lit parking lot, and a pleasant experience

This hotel overall was an excellent choice. The location is convenient. The cleanliness was tremendous and staff very welcoming. The breakfast was amazing. Parking was easy. Will stay again if I travel to the area.

There were kids riding bikes in the back parking area near the dog space asking for money.

Night staff charged me $100.00 deposit that has still not been refunded on my acct. told me they had no handicap parking….night staff is not trained well. As for deposit it could be as high as $250 due to age, traveler location…quite unusual for a hotel stay for one night….I will stay away from that location next time!
