Overview

The Alexandra Inn is a newer property with a beautiful location right on the water, offering beach access. Guests appreciate the clean rooms, comfortable beds, and in-room amenities. The views, particularly from lakeside rooms, are a highlight. However, some guests note that parking can be tricky for larger vehicles and that the small air conditioners may struggle in warmer weather. The rooftop bar and restaurant's weekend-only hours are also a point to consider.

Nice new property. Clean, comfy beds, and in room amenities. Hotel is decorated very nicely. Our lakeside King was very cozy with a great view. Only mild complaints would be that the small air conditioners in the rooms struggle to keep up at times, and if you have a larger vehicle like we did (truck with bikes on back) it is a little tricky to park in the tiny parking lot. Also, nowhere for guests to come and visit for dinner to park.

Property is right on the water with beach access. Smaller but very nice room on the parking lot side. Beware the bed support, you can hurt your shins, lol

Beware! Very nice place EXCEPT there is NO area outside of your room to sit and enjoy the view. We got handicap accessible room (all that was available) with parking lot view. There was NO closet or drawers in room. Only one hook for towels in bathroom. Not even luggage racks to put suitcase on. Other guests were given tokens for free drink. None offered to us. Maybe because we booked through Hotels.com? Have a rooftop area but closed first night due to rain. Second night they had a cellist for one hour but was cold and very windy therefore not tolerable. If you plan to enjoy view of the bay but have a parking lot view, plan to be disappointed. The cost was over $600 for two nights.

Would not let us park small RV in lot, expected two seniors to park a block away and carry our belongings down a major road with no sidewalks. The extra lot area was not a secure area all our processions were in RV. They let us cancel. We found a hotel with bigger lot we could park in a few buildings away- while desk person was checking us in the manager from Alexandra called and told the clerk to not rent us a room? I asked why and he said the manager at Alexandra was also his manager? So why not offer us to stay at The Lodge? They have a very immature manager with control issues and this was done because I dared argue about parking ( we would have fit but he would not bother trying to help us out.

We have been visiting this area for many years and were looking for something new. This place was excellent. Great location, beautiful view, easy parking, friendly staff in all areas. Highly recommend.

The property is quaint, looks nice from the outside. The entrance to the parking lot is dangerous if turning right into it due to the signage they placed close to the street. Front desk staff was pleasant. The hotel construction was done poorly. The doors in the room are extremely cheap. The paint is poor throughout, many areas of primer only which means hand prints leave marks. Showers are extremely cheap construction. Much of the construction appears to be done cheaply and likely by a non licensed contractor "in house work". The beach is clean, well maintained. Wish them well, but it needs a lot of work if they plan to be around for a while.

Our first time visiting traverse city and it didn’t disappoint! The location was perfect, it felt serene and peaceful, 10 minute drive to downtown and the vibe was fun and easy to navigate with a toddler. The room was clean the bathroom was stocked with soft towels and travel essentials. The balcony overlooking the bay was the cherry on top. Being able to walk from the hotel into the sand and enjoy the water was amazing! The only minor bummer was the rooftop bar and restaurant is only open on the weekend which I overlooked when booking our stay. Everything was so comfortable and convenient it made it extremely easy to relax and transport us to a place of tranquil beauty. Thank you staff at the Alexandra inn for a memorable stay! We can’t wait to come back. MP
