Best Western Plus Nor'wester Hotel & Conference Centre

Overall everything was good for a one night stay while traveling. Refurbished older hotel. Low ceilings, tiny bathroom. Breakfast was good. Staff was excellent.

I specifically called to confirm they were On the TransCanada Highway, the guest service person barely must have listened to my question, she giggled and said "We are right On the highway".... not the highway I was asking. They are very far away from the main areas of town with restaurants and other services. Quite remote. When I spoke to complain to the sales manager he said his staff needs to clarify to guests that they are away from the main area right close to the airport, a bit remote. Two area doors to our room stairs were closed/blocked off, it was 11pm at night we couldn't understand where we could park and go in... leaving us to go around and around the building looking for an open entrance! The hotel is old and run down, with subprime upgrades. The value for the quality of this hotel is POOR. Not worth the money spent. Our room had a foul smell not sure if it was cleaning agents or pets or just old and tired. bathroom was tiny, with large tub that had dirty caulking around the tub, and tub did not drain well as well had damage that had been painted over. I mentioned all this to the sales manager who said he would call me back Once he addressed it as the room had been fully renovated. He didn't call me back so I called back twice and finally he answered. He brushed off the smell saying that his cleaning head person went there and there isn't any smell. This a blatant lie. He was unhelpful and didn't care. I was bushed off!

Great if you are traveling with a pet. You have access to your car and the parking lot from your room, as well as to the inside hall. Clean and comfortable

Great place to stay without leaving a major roadway. Easy to continue the trip next day. I especially love the ability to park outside of your unit’s patio entrance. Especially good when travelling with pets.

We enjoyed our stay here and the scenery is beautiful. We were travelling many hours from Ont to Sask and we were disappointed that the hot tub was out of order and the website had not warned us of this.

One night stay on a long journey across the provinces. The staff had left helpful travel size products in the bathroom. That was a nice surprise.

Great view, close to the airport, Old Fort William and outdoor activities. Nice to be out of the city, hotel is beautiful, restaurant had great food, plus there are a couple of places close by to eat too. Great pool, sauna, and hot tub.

Front desk staff was not welcoming and didn’t even want to check ID. Patio door in room didn’t lock properly with no additional security bar. Was genuinely cannot ncernef about my safety. As a woman travelling alone for business, I must caution others against staying here. To hotel management’s credit they have reached out and investigated the room I stayed in so perhaps this has been remedied but I would be remiss if I didn’t post this as fair warning to the next woman checking in after a late flight.

Given the reviews and ratings, I was suprised to find the dated appearance of the hotel hallways and carpeting. TV and bed were fine. Bathroom basic but also fine. Staff were wonderful. I arrived at night and left early so cannot comment on views outside, but I here they are wonderful. Given the (relative) proximity to the airport and the price compared to newer hotels which are closer to the airport, I would certainly stay here again.
