TownePlace Suites by Marriott Thunder Bay

Staff were amazing. Great room for family (travelled with 2 young children). Breakfast was convenient with lots of options. Open for most of the morning. Coffee a little bland but nice to have 24 hours a day. Close to grocery store (in same plaza). Quiet. No issues.

My kids LOVE this hotel. It’s so easy for my family to visit. Lots of tables to sit outside and enjoy our time together. Great rooms with big fridges and dishwashers... perfect for travel with kids. Also love walking to the Superstore for warm meals or heat n eat. It’s con convenient. Central location too!

We travelled with our one year old daughter. A Playard was provided for her to sleep in. There was also lots of space in the room to have the Playard set up and still have room to walk around, a little play area on the floor and be able to use the kitchenette. Breakfast options were great / oatmeal, waffles, eggs, toast, sausage, etc… Would stay here again, especially when travelling with kids!

Was not impressed with this property at all. Had to go through a grocery store parking lot to get in, most of the lights of their sign were burnt out , and didn’t have enough staff to clean so they just left a sorry note we couldn’t take care of it . The Manager and friends should have come in and taken care of that. Not for that price…. Ridiculous !

I really expect more from Marriott. The first problem happened before we were even in the lobby which was that the main entrance was locked! It's not the best feeling when you get stuck in the door way as soon as you arrive to your hotel, and what made it worse was that we were travelling with my grandparents who have trouble walking so it was very annoying to have to stand in the entrance way forever. The whole locking off the main entrance thing makes it feel like your not welcomed/still in lockdown. The room was super nice except that there was some garbage left behind and there was a towel rack in the washroom that was hanging off the wall. Another problem was when I got off at the 2nd floor by mistake, there was a security guard sitting in the hallway which probably means that they are isolating people with COVID at the hotel which would have been really nice to know. Not a great feeling thinking that there are people with COVID in the same building as you. It would be a super nice place if a new owner would buy it and fix some few issues.
