When we checked in, we were handed a smartphone and told that was ours to use for the duration of our stay with unlimited data and that if the front desk needed to talk to us, or the reverse, that phone would be used.
We dropped our stuff and headed out to eat dinner. While we were there, they called and said the taxi driver who brought us from the airport had called to see if we left something in his car.
We were unsure, so said we'd check when we got back. It turned out that I *had* left a bag containing an iPad and a laptop in it. So, we called back and told them that.
The taxi driver had waited and immediately dropped it off and I got my bag and electronics back.
When I thanked everyone involved profusely for what they'd done, it was very clear that they thought of it as just the way they do things. This hotel is THAT kind of place.

The Alda located conveniently in the center of Reykjavik. It's a modern, well appointed hotel with comfortable rooms although we were lucky and were upgraded to a suite.
Due to departure time, we didn't have breakfast.
If you need a taxi, best have the front desk order one for you. They have a good system.
Looking for dinner? We recommend Old Iceland just across the street but make a reservation online before you go.

Stayed for two nights. Room was comfortable, clean and stylish. Staff very helpful - allowed me to check in early after a long flight, which i was grateful for. Didn’t try the resteraunt as there are plenty of good food options within a five min walk. Great stay and will come back again.

Lovely room, good size, clean and a nice hot shower. Good central location with nice restaurant food downstairs (loved the blueberry chicken salad). Managed to find free car parking easy enough about 3 blocks up the hill behind the hotel.

We arrived from London and took the Fly bus. I called the hotel in London to confirm our reservation and ask the best way to get to the hotel. The receptionist told us to take the Fly bus and have the drop us off at stop #9. The cost of the fly bus was approximately $25.00 each. Total of $100 in their currency and there were 2 of us. We made it to the hotel at around 12:30 am and there were 2 receptionist at that time to help check us in.
The hotel turned out to be on what i would consider to be one of the main streets in town. We had access to everything in walking distance. We had breakfast included and it was very great.
I highly recommend this hotel, we will be back.

Very well located hotel, but still quiet despite being on a busy street. Bed was very comfortable and had an excellent night’s sleep. Left for an early flight so couldn’t try breakfast.

We had a comfortable stay here. The staff were welcoming, the room was spacious and clean and the location was very convenient for walking around the city centre. A disappointment was the bed which appeared to sag on one side. However we advised staff upon checkout and they were going to look into it. Like most hotels in the city centre you need to park on the street and be mindful of parking costs.
