Rey Apartments

Great, clean, and tidy stay. But the balcony of another apartment is extended all the way to outside of our bathroom. We have to tape maps on the window to ensure privacy. Another concern is limited parking. Only 2 free parking spots are available. Otherwise, residents have to pay for on-street parking unless parking between 21:00 and 09:00 overnight.

The Rey apartments are perfectly located about five blocks from Bus Stop 8 (Hallgrimskirke), two blocks from from a four block stretch of shops and restaurants that leads down to the Culture House (Bus Stop 6) and the old Harbor - with more shopping, Harpa Concert Hall, more restarants and the weekend flea market. It's also about three blocks from Rainbow Road. Hand knitting Association one block down. There are mini-marts one block one way and three blocks the other. Check-in is at the Hotel Odinsve which is about a five block walk away. Microwave, mini-fridge, stove top, towel warmer, blow dryer, dishes, flatware and some cooking utensils. Blackout roller shades and we had zero trouble sleeping. Front desk was just a phone call away and very helpful. Design was spartan, but was very comfortable. Free Wifi. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR in the building, so if hauling your suitcase up stairs will be an issue, ask for an apartment on the ground floor. Paid parking on the street, but never saw an empty spot. We didn't have a car so don't know if they had a private parking area or not. We were there nine days and walked everywhere in town easily and I am not exactly in shape...maybe 40 years ago. It was perfect for an older woman - felt safe and comfortable. Location could not have been more perfect. Would definitely book again.

This apartment worked out great for our 3 days in Reykjavik. It had everything we needed and was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown. It is the perfect location. The laundromat was just across the street. The only downside was the 2 spots only parking but it would not deter us from making another reservation in the future.

Property was good, only problem was parking... hard to find parking specially around 7pm...

We couldn’t be happier. We had a mishap with my dad forgetting a bag at the airport and the front desk did everything they could to help and my dad got his bag (and medications) back. They truly went above and beyond!!

Location was stellar! Near the big church and tons of food places, plus walking distance to grocery store. Check-in was via a hotel down the street a bit, which was nice when we needed to contact someone for info. Paid parking. Apartment was very clean, had everything we needed. Only thing was it’s right on the street, so a bit noisy. Was worth it for us in order to be close to so much. 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 5).

Excellent location and facilities, in heart of Reykjavik. Management, Mr Alberto were awesome, we missed our flight and couldn't reach on the day that we had reservations. Mr. Alberto amended our non-refundable reservation and found us alternate accommodations when we arrived, he got us room ready earlier than scheduled checkin time that allowed us to rest after overnight flight. Five star service. Excellent location with views of the Hallagrimskirkja and rainbow street from our window

We liked the unit, large 1 bedroom, centrally located. Only issue is downtown parking but any place would have this. We would come back

Overall okay stay. The front desk staff are great! We selected this location for the kitchen which had what we needed. It’s a small apartment with bathroom right next to kitchen which isn’t ideal. The kitchen sink had no hot water. Bathroom sink was clogged. Bed was comfy. Overall older apartment in an older part of the city. Location was great next to many restaurants and shops. Parking was very limited with free parking at the church.

Really clean, modern, efficient apartment walkable to everything in downtown Reykjavik within 3 minutes. Hard to find parking in the front. The outside is nothing like the pictures.
