Overview

REZz Cork offers budget-friendly accommodation in a central Cork location, convenient for solo travellers using public transport. Guests appreciate the cleanliness and friendly staff. However, the small room size, uncomfortable beds, and noise levels are frequent criticisms. Parking is off-site and incurs extra cost. While some find the hotel ideal for short stays, others highlight issues such as stained carpets, poor mattress quality, and infrequent lift outages.

Very good value for money. Clean, comfortable. In a nice part of the city. Rooms are small so fine for solo travellers

The location is very convenient. There is paid parking at Patrick Quay across the road. In general, the operation and layout of the room is not well thought out. The staff are not there after 10pm. There is also no contact information or phone available if you needed to reach someone! Fortunately, when our hotel card stopped working one night, it was just before 10pm when we got back to the hotel. When we checked out 7:30am, no one was available to take our hotel cards back and there was no dropbox. We had to wait around in the lobby until a staff was servicing the hallways. Also our card again stopped working that morning and we could not go back up to our room. The small room could be improved by strategically having more hooks, ledges and shelf space. The bathroom was clean but the carpet in the room appeared dirty, the mattresss was uneven and lumpy. It was hard to have a comfortable sleep, woke up with a backache both mornings.

Have the owners tried sleeping on their mattresses? This is a teeny tiny room (as described), with a mattress wedged into a space between the window and a wall next to the bathroom. No chair or stool in the room, so if you want to sit you need to sit on the part of the mattress by a pillow. With a couple of years of customers having to sit this way the mattress is shot. Springs poking in all the wrong places making it difficult to sleep. They needed to have sourced a more suitable and sturdy mattress for the physical set-up. And don't think the room will be suitable for 2 people -- it is not. Might be OK for a solo traveller (who will fit into the teeny tiny shower and can cope with an uncomfortable bed) looking for a no-frills budget room for a night, but not nice for a couple.

Property was affordable and in an area making parking and visiting really easy, shower drain was blocked when we got there and needed cleaning

I am 75 years old; a solo female traveler. I tell it like it is to save others a hard time. I have nothing bad to say about ReZz. For bus or train travelers it's a great location. for paddywagon tours it's a great location. Friday night it was noisy but quiet by midnight. A small price to pay. As stated it is tiny- don't try putting two in one room. But it is so well thought out there is a light under the bed where your suitcase goes. Can't beat that.

The staff was friendly and before arrival I reached out requesting an accessible room due to recovering from a knee injury and they kindly accommodated me. Overall the room was fine, however the comfort od the bed was not great and my comforter, carpet, and desk all had visible stains. I am sure it was clean, but could use a bit of TLC. Also, just to note it tells you there are hair dryers available but these are in the refresher area, along with the laundry and coffee/tea. The laundry was not accessible due to housekeeping bins. All of this is fine, just some helpful things to know for solo travelers who will be traveling for longer periods of time.

Well....they advertise the rooms as small and that's no lie. That didn't bother me. Here are the issues I had with this place: Elevator/lift was out of order and seemed like it may have been out of order for some time, we were on the fourth floor and four flights of stairs gets old - Walls of room needed a good cleaning and painting, lots of smudging and mysterious hand prints - Overpriced for the condition and size of the room, checked into pricing at the lovely looking Metropole across the street and if booked in advance it had shockingly similar rates. Would recommend doing some investigation into off line booking of rooms in Cork. Cork is a lovely town though and well worth a visit!

Elevator was out of service, but otherwise good! Efficient and clean. We had a room facing the alleyway, and some drunks were heard screaming, and some pilferers heard rummaging through recycling and some construction materials. But the staff helped nothing that cheap parking was to be had at the train station, and under 10 euro, which is legit.
