The River Lee Hotel is a short walk to the University College Cork. Also near by, along the Lee River, is Fitzgerald Park and a pedestrian bridge you can take to get to the Cork City Gaol. In the opposite direction, it’s a short walk from the hotel to the English Market.
I did not get breakfast at the hotel. There are dozens of coffee shops near the hotel where you can get pastries as well.
The hotel restaurant, The Grill Room, is excellent. We had the fillet but the best part of the meal was the desserts. They out did themselves with the desserts. I had peaches and cream and my daughter had sticky toffee pudding. They were marvelous.
There is a large underground parking garage that is shared with other facilities. The garage entrance was a bit tricky to find because it is not next the hotel entrance. I had to go to the hotel front desk to get directions to the garage entrance. Once in the garage, you double back until you’re parking near the hotel elevators.
When I booked this hotel, I asked for a walk-in shower (aka a shower stall). I emphasized that I did not want a combination shower/tub. What I got was an accessible room, complete with a wheel-chair accessible shower. So, I cannot review what a typical room is like. I can say that our room was quiet and clean.

Lovely hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were traveling from the states and arrived earlier than our check-in time. The hotel was able to accommodate our request for an earlier check in which was welcome news for two weary travelers. The hotel restaurant was very good. Highly recommend this place.

This is a very modern hotel in a modern section of town by the Uni. It’s surrounded by recently built condos, but not much else. It has an underground garage, tucked behind it, which was a bit difficult to sort out. Signage to say it’s hotel parking would be nice. The staff were nice, but mostly into talking to each other rather than guests. The property seemed empty. They seemed caught up in boredom. I wanted to ask for a food recommendation, but decided to look for my own for the above reason. Sadly, there isn’t much around. Most places close quite early… by 8-9pm.

This was probably one of my favorite hotels in Ireland. I loved the easy parking for our cars, the rooms, amenities, and the bar. The staff there are all top notch, the hotel itself is lovely, and the location is wonderful. It seemed very quiet there. The only issue is coffee. If in-room coffee suits you, then no issues for you. But if you want good coffee at the hotel it's $20 room service, or the $60/pp breakfast. Fortunately Depeche coffee is 5 minutes walk down the way - just be aware that things are very slow there - slow to open - and move slowly - so if you're crunched for time and can't wait 30 minutes for coffee at the local shop, plan accordingly. I recommend gearing down and enjoying your stay - this is a lovely hotel for that!

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Easy on line check in and parking was below the hotel with an elevator straight to our floor. The rooms were clean and well appointed. We even had an executive lounge with complimentary tea, coffee water and snacks. Great place for a stay in Cork.

We had a nice stay. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. We panicked a bit with the parking when we saw it was 3 euros per hour. Luckily, the hotel has a flat rate of 12 euros for the night.

Beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable with nice food and good service. Unfortunately you’ve to pay for parking which I feel should be included in your stay. Some notice about the pool closed to kids from 6pm would be beneficial also. Perhaps to be included in the booking information. The pool itself is very nice and clean.
Overall though we love this hotel and will absolutely return.

The hotel location is excellent, only a few minutes walk to the English Market, and there is underground parking (extra charge). As its a few minutes walk away from bars and restaurants, the hotel is quiet at night.
The staff are lovely. Our room was comfortable and spotless, however some small details like charging points beside the bed would have improved the stay - we had to use the plug at the desk. The TV has chromecast so you can stream your own entertainment. One thing I would have liked is the ability to turn the air off, the temperature in the room was perfect but the air was a little loud when we were going to sleep - it didn't hinder us from sleeping, but I would have preferred the ability to turn it down/off.
