This hotel is really different. Set like a modern art museum the rooms are well appointed and feels like a touch of luxury. Great location by Te Papa. A few annoying things, taxis drop you at the back door due to one way streets and that door is locked. Nothing like standing in windy wellington waiting for someone to answer the buzzer, then the phone when I gave up on the buzzer. That was a pain. Ask your taxi to loop around to main entrance. The a-la-carte breakfast was great but some days its the worlds smallest buffet for over $30. I was insulted, that was a rip off. Bar staff great, fabulous gin bar, rooms fantastic, but plan to have breakfast elsewhere on buffet days!

Beautifully, beautifully, clean room, 10/10 to the pleasant, friendly, cleaning staff.
Not sure why we had to deal with the consierge as well as the people at the front desk. It was not immediately clear to me, who was who.
Suddenly, upon check-out I was told the cost for 2 nights of valet parking was now $100 instead of the $80 it was at check-in and in the email communications I had received since I booked the accomodation, 2 months prior. Bad manners I thought. (but I paid it of course).
One of the night duty staff were not able to sort an issue with the coffee machine in our room other than to say he thought it was faulty. He tried but couldn’t find a replacement. He apologised but still left the faulty machine in the room. At check-out I let the front desk staff know.
The water from the shower flows out under the shower door even with the bath mat there, onto the tiles. One needs to take care not to slip over.
It may be an idea to put in some type of stopper/grid cover in the bathroom basin to avoid anything falling down drain. (Just a suggestion).

Hotel disappointing, would have thought hotel of this price, over $350 with breakfast and car parking, could at least supply good coffee in room, not just instant. One of reasons for choosing this hotel was the restaurants which on arrival find one closed for refurbishment and the other not serving dinner although there was food available in lounge bar, none of this mentioned when booking. My wife and I attended show and arrived back at hotel about 5 to 10 to find no food available in hotel, restaurant closed and no room service available. Seems like more attention given to the great art works in hotel than clientele. Plus was staff great and breakfast good. Would not stay here again

We arrived on a morning flight from Auckland at 7am. The purpose for our visit to Wellington was for the Marvel Convention for my 3yo godson. Check in was at 3pm. Staff allowed us to check into one of the rooms that was ready early. The rooms were nice and clean. The phones were down and advised reception who gave me their card and advised to ring directly to them. The view at the restaurant was beautiful. Didn’t get a chance to eat there but next time will give it a go.
I highly recommend if your looking for accommodation to stay there. Restuarant, supermarket, waterfront, Te Papa all within a block of this location. The beehive is a 9minute drive. Money well spent for the one night 5 of us were there

I got a delay because of the 24 hour delayed flight and I requested from property to not charge me for the day I am not staying but instead of that I faced to lose my whole reservation because I couldnt show up on the day I made my reservation. Long story short this is a good facility bur the people are not polite and understanding.

Lovely room, very spacious and quiet. Convenient walk to everything and airport bus stop a few blocks away. Gorgeous artworks. We appreciated the hot spa after all that walking!

Nice property. Apartment studio room was good with lovely big bath and good size room. Not as seen in picture (smaller than photo) but it was ideal for our stay.
The art work at this hotel is really interesting - I enjoyed checking it out.
B’fast was nice but I was certain that the avocado on toast was from a jar (not fresh) which was disappointing.
It is a little dated and as a huge traveller I wouldn’t say that it’s “luxury” but it’s a great hotel in a great location by the waterfront, Te Papa, shops etc. staff were friendly and helpful.
