The entrance to the hotel was as expected from the website photos looking amazing, check-in efficient and everything from the moment we left the lobby went rapidly downhill.
The room was tired, shabby and overheated (resorted to turning AC off and it still didn’t cool down) the bathroom was nice looking recently refurbished.
The shocker was paying to use the pool facilities. At £10 this was really disappointing and be prepared for the £15 per day/night parking charge…. With pool and car parking charges the added an additional 25% to the bill.

Stayed in a privilege double room
Clean comfortable and very convenient
Nice breakfast and great staff
Just note there is a £15 charge for parking and a £10 charge to use the pool and sauna etc
For the money I can’t fault it

Expensive overall, parking and restaurant costs far too much for quality of food and service offered

The hotel is a lovely 4 star hotel. I cannot believe that you are charged to use the pool as a hotel guest. Whereas it’s clean and not bad, it’s a small pool, the sauna is ok and the jacuzzi functional at best. Also, parking is 15 pounds a day. Left a very sour taste

I liked the hotel and staff but I thought the extra cost of parking, use of the pool and breakfast considering the nightly rate was a charge to far I could stay at a premium budget hotel for much less and I didn’t think the quality of the bed was as good as a budget hotels mattress and pillows. My tv worked on and off and I didn’t get my cups/hot chocolate replenished all which led me to feel this hotel was not value for money despite nice general facilities and friendly staff.

Location perfect for visiting the City and easy to travel away from Exeter. Hotel clean and comfortable but room was a bit tired both decor and furniture. Also car parking charge seemed high at £15/24 hours

We have stayed here several times for the Cathedral Old Choristers dinner.
The dinner itself was fine, but next year we will stay at a different hotel.
The heating didn’t work in our room and although they gave us a small electric heater they didn’t fix it for our second night, and didn’t offer to change our room although the hotel was certainly not full.
A barman with difficulty understanding English took an amazingly long time to produce 3 simple drinks.
Worst of all, we used to stay here as they have an indoor pool. This used to be free for guests but now charges £10 per visit, not even £10 per day!
Added to the £15 per day parking fees this will encourage us to stay at a cheaper next year for our annual reunion visit to this wonderful Cathedral.

Very impressive lobby, dining area and bedroom, which had some nice touches.
However, the hotel is let down by the lack of parking spaces, which are on a first come, first serve, basis. Also, overnight parking costs £15.

Great location. Nice and hotel overall. Walls were dirty in room with spashes up the wall and marks all over it. Food and drink too pricey for business traveller on expenses!

Lovely hotel in a lovely location, very comfortable room and brilliant shower.
Decorated very elegantly for Christmas too!
Only complaint is the price for parking at a whopping £15 a night, this would put me off staying again at that price.
