Olga's Fancy

I would recommend staying at Olga's Fancy to anyone looking to stay in the Frenchtown area of St. Thomas. The view from our room was the best of our trip and we really enjoyed relaxing in the pool area with the (free) morning coffee. Other perks include a very nice next-door restaurant named Oceana and a location that is a walkable distance to other restaurants. The staff is very friendly and will help you setup a taxi or answer any questions you may have. Keep in mind the location does not have a beach in the immediate area if that's important to you.

The property owners are so kind, friendly and personable. I’ll be back as I travel through St Thomas a lot! Wish I’d known about this place sooner! It’s a gorgeous location and although simple, is clean and inviting.

Lovely location convenient to the airport and great dining options in Frenchtown but a little far from beaches or the ferry so be prepared to use taxis or the bus system. Kandy and Eddie are wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Fresh mangoes every morning were bonus.

This was the perfect place to spend our 1-day stay in St. Thomas between our BVI visit and our flight home. Olga's could not have offered a more perfect ending, in fact it would have been nice to add a few days. We had 3 rooms and they were all lovely.

We've stayed at Olga's before with 2 other couples, 5 years ago. This time we traveled as a family and had 3 rooms. We all stayed one night before our catamaran trip and afer our catamaran trip this time. We had 3 different rooms each time. Rooms 9, 10 and 11 had quiet and efficient air conditioning, however the mattress in room 9 had a hump in the middle and I found myself rolling to the edge. The rooms were clean and had what one needs for a nice sleep. The following week we had room 5, 6 and 8. The a/c in all rooms were noisy and didn't quite seems to keep the room feeling dry. We all agreed that the rooms seemed "older" feeling to us. The mattresses in these rooms also are very worn but comfy overall. Our daughter-in-law kept rolling to the middle and had to crawl out twice during the night. lol. There was one cleanliness issue which I took photos of. Eddie was on top of it right away and took it very seriously. Candy and Eddie are super nice and welcoming people. They are also great at helping to arrange taxis. Morning coffee is provided at the front desk/outdoor lounge area each morning. There are quite a few stairs to climb and no bellmen, which we knew and were prepared for. Be prepared to carry your own luggage up 2-3 flights in the heat. Taxis on the island are very expensive and didn't take a cc. $15-20/pp from the airport to the hotel, which is only about 10 mins away. We used a lot of our cash on unexpected taxi charges.

The owner was so very nice. We booked a room that said outdoor shower which I thought it was for rinsing of sand like most hotels but when we got there we found that it was an OUTDOOR BATHROOM. The toilet and shower were outside our room in the outdoors. The room was extremely small but it was clean. It is not the owners fault we misunderstood the description . But it was pretty uncomfortable. So just make sure what you are booking at this motel. As I said. The owner was so very nice. Great location to the airport no swimming beach as the picture has you believe there is no swimming beach there

We stayed in the adorable small cottage for one night before our flight home. Owners are exceptional friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful dinner at Oceana -restaurant next door over looking the ocean. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice older place with a pool, a view and parking. Easy access to town. Now if they could just get rid of those noisy roosters.

Great view from the balcony of the water. The hosts were helpful in getting us taxis. The room was very clean, but it is definitely a no-frills place to stay. Beware many stairs if you’re having to carry your luggage up and down but that’s true in St. Thomas and St. John’s anyway but just an FYI you do it yourself. Great location 7 minutes from the airport. Next to a fabulous restaurant Oceana.
