Tried to check-in late around 12:30am on Tuesday, after my room was paid in full, the manager on duty told me that he had given away my room because I didn't check-in before midnight even though the room was paid in full. Was told to leave the property otherwise the cops would be called on me. Was force to sleep in the back of my rent truck while it was -10 outside. I will not be staying at any Extended Stay's in the future. This is the worst experience I've had in all of my years of traveling for business.

When we first arrive at 10 pm, the front desk were having internet issue and wasn’t able to check us in. It was a little frustrating since we were so tired from a 20 hours flights. But the manager came in and just gave us a room without keeping us waiting after 10 minutes or so. So overall it wasn’t terrible. The room was clean and staffs were friendly. Great location to go out of the town or go shopping.

It was the worst stay I have had.
The hotel is under construction which I was not told when I booked it
Pictures of the rooms and hotel were not true to what you receive.
The location is in a very bad part of the town.
Staff told us that we would have to leave unless my husband removed his guns from the room. Alaska is an open carry state. There is nothing on their website nor posted at the hotel stating that you can not have guns on the property. It is not safe to place them in a vehicle due to homeless people hanging out in the parking all hours.
We did not feel safe.
And we checked out early after one night. They changed us our entire booked stay of 7 days.

If we had paid $80-$125 for a room, the value received would have been fair. However, we were charged $229 for the first night and $304 for the second night, which was outrageous for a motel of this category. When I inquired about the pricing, the helpful person at the desk said that pricing was based on demand and availability of rooms. There did not seem to be so many people staying at the motel (parking lot was ~2/3 full including workmen). Since the motel was undergoing renovations, I wonder if number of available rooms was decreased due to some rooms undergoing renovation or being used to house workmen. If either would be true, I feel that neither should affect pricing for the customer. For the price that was paid, I expected that everything would be perfect. However, the wifi and tv connections were awful, the view from our room was of a chain link fence with razer wire on top (back of industrial shop next door), the door to our room was slightly ajar so it had to be manually closed to ensure that it latched, and the amenities were on the level of a motel 6 or Super 8 (grab and go breakfast was a joke). The only positive that I can offer is that the two staff that I interacted with were courteous and helpful. My recommendation would be to stay somewhere else when in Fairbanks even if it costs a few dollars more.

The bathroom fan sounded like it was going to explode the bed squeked so bad that if you moved your arm it would schreech. After talking to the staff about it they never got back to us until I called again. They ended up transferring us to a new room which the door handle worked half the time. Said there was a hot tub and was not one there

Location close to store and easy to find. A lot of foot traffic going past the place that gave me the impression that a homeless camp was near. It appeared that Extended Stay is renting rooms to construction companies that are parking their vehicles in the hotel parking lot. There was an excessive amount of sand or concrete material in the parking lot that was getting tracked into the facility. The area where coffee is served was dirty and the trash was overflowing at 09:00. The room view out the window showed a barbed wire fence a few feet away (on the backside of the building). The bed in the room was too firm for us. The kitchen faucet leaked. The room did feel clean and that was very much appreciated!

The room was decent, for the price paid I expected better, but functional and clean. The fire alarm went off 2 times right before bed and early morning, for no apparent reason. The elevator was out of service, the pool was out of service, and business center was out of service. The so called "Free Breakfast" appeared to be apples, oranges and banana's along with coffee. Needless to say, i took the family somewhere else. Sad representation of a brand. Now i remember why i stay at marriots for my extensive work travel.
