Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge

Replacing simple coin-op machines like laundry and soda is an insufferable practice. I don't need an outside company collecting my purchasing history of a freaking soda so they can tailor their approval amounts. The laundry was another story-- 7 or 8 bucks for one load, but you have to download an app to use it. Which you can't do in a concrete basement. And the machine didn't work anyway. The ext to call to report it doesn't get answered. An hour an a half later, I finished one load of laundry. There's no microwave in the room. There's on in the community room, about a 10-mile walk back to the other end of the hotel. This is a place to corral cruise-line passengers into banquet rooms. They do not treat regular travelers well in any respect.

We were independent travelers amidst an entire hotel of cruise ship guests. I would not recommend for someone who is not with the cruise. I purposely picked the hotel because it was the only option I found with 2 double beds. Unfortunately, they gave us a room with one king. I am traveling with my adult age son and do not want to share a bed with him so I complained. After a bit of push back, they offered to send up a rollaway. The level of comfort on a rollaway is not the same. My son asked me to not be upset any longer, so instead I went to shower. The water pressure was almost nonexistent. So, overall, the two things that mattered most — bed and shower — were unsatisfactory. Not to mention at 4am or so, all the cruise ship people start rolling their bags to the halls and the place gets loud.

Good value for the money. Near the airport and airport shuttles available. According to my boyfriend, it was the best breakfast buffet he had in a long time, even though you have to pay ~$30.

I like being close to the airport and I appreciate some of the landscaping to the property. However, when I checked in, I went to my room and it was not clean. When I did finally get into my room, the internet connection was poor, so I had to hot spot my phone. The dining options are also very limited.

The room size was large with a few dining options. It has a beautiful river behind it with a nice deck overlooking. It’s a beautiful property to walk around. It is very convenient to the airport.

It also is closer to the airport. It gave us a power nap at that place after we had a long flight and we arrived at 1 am!

This is an ok hotel. I would stay again. The hotel needs to offer free coffee in the lobby for their guests and free shuttle service to the airport.

Nice place. A lot of tours from the looks of it. The room was nice but disappointed that there wasnt a mini fridge. I didn't eat at the restaurants, so i can't comment on that but it is there and seemed popular. There's a nice gift shop in the lobby with coffee and some snacks. The staff was very nice. Location is very convenient to access the airport but a little drive from other amenities. Overall I'd recommend.

The lodge is by the river quite a way from the centre of Fairbanks. It is convenient to the airport and they offer a free airport shuttle for guests. The menus for each of the two restaurants did not offer anything we found appealing and were pricey. We walked to a place at Pike’s Landing for dinner that was OK. The lodge offered a shuttle service into downtown but we decided to use the bus service from the bus stop on the road nearby. These buses run on a loop route that intersect with other bus loops and we found the drivers pleasant and able to offer advice about the service. As a bonus, these buses are free for seniors. Regarding the lodge, it was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was fine, with a comfortable bed and good hot water.

The hotel caters to cruise stays on land. So it's nice. Though it shows some wear, it was comfortable. Ask for a river view, otherwise you're starting at a parking lot. Staff told us we had a river but we didn't. Make sure they are correct before using the bathroom.
