Fairbanks Extended Stay

The “suite” was roomy. Things were not up to date—facets in bathroom and kitchen need to be replaced. Refrigerator needs to be replaced—nothing could be put on the door as the plastic retainers were all broken. You have to be able to climb stairs (which wasn’t a problem for us). There was a flight of stairs to the office, to our unit, and to the breakfast area. The free breakfast was good.

Clean older property with scattered antiques, great kitchen set up. Friendly people, and a moose with her calf walked right through the parking area on my last morning.... how cool is that!?!?!

I am gonna be honest when I drove up into the parking lot and saw the outside of the building and the property, my first thought was if the outside looks like this I do not want to see the inside. It made me feel uncomfortable so I left, I did not care about the loss and went and rented some where else.

It's a lovely property situated not too far from the airport. Lisha, the Host, was warm, friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and cozy, and the bed very comfortable. During my next visit to Fairbanks I know where I'll stay!

No on site office parking is atrocious. I was unable to access my reserved room due to a complete lack of on site staff.

Disappointed in this reservation. I booked a room at what I thought was the regular Extended Stay in Fairbanks - the pictures online showed the Extended Stay building. But the reservation was actually at some kind of satellite location - a dilapidated building not near the actual Extended Stay building - scaffolding on the outside, looked like it was in repairs and previously used for something else. No markers anywhere calling it an Extended Stay. Hotel employees had to use personal vehicles to shuttle over to this building. I felt that this was a very dishonest representation of the place based on what was shown on Expedia - this was false advertising as far as I'm concerned.

On hotels.com the address listed is as 4316 Birch Lane for the Fairbanks Extended Stay (DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE EXTENDED STAY AMERICA!!! Two different places!!) Few days prior to arriving i called as instructed due to late arrival. It was then I was told the place we register and building of actual room was about half a mile away. Too late to do anything and it was a non-refundable room, so we went. Arrival was around MN. Walkway into building is dimly lit, taking you up creaky stairs into an entry that leads into a kitchen (also known as the office—see picture) No one was there. I called the number to had available and a man answered and inquired if I completed the paperwork? There is NO sign explaining anything. Told him that’s why I was calling, he replied that’s what I’m supposed to do and woke him up! Bit confusing!! Got our room and walked the half mile to the other building. (I had been previously warned to keep our taxi, but for as long as it took to get checked in the meter would have been $100+) We walked into an dirty uncleaned room. Not a welcoming sight after traveling. Contacted the office and was given an upgraded room BACK at the place of check in. Ride was provided. Rough start. Room was ready the following day. Ok place.
