Location is very close to the airport(IAH). Airplane noise is heard from time to time, but still acceptable, considering value and location of the property. Unless you have a car, food choice is not great around the property. Overall a good transit stay for the value and location.

Check in was good and fast. Room was clean. No microwave. Beds comfortable. Saw lots of shattered glass in the parking spots like the cars were broken in to. Saw a huge roach coming out of the kitchen in the hallway about 10 pm, one of the guest steppened on it and killed it. The planes are very loud going over the hotel and we were on the 4 th top floor so very loud. It is very close to the airport. Had coffee but did not eat. My friend ate a little bit. I do think it was a bit overpriced with the loud planes at night for sleeping.

After a long day travelling we were looking forward to our stay and were left feeling really underwhelmed. Our check in was awful, the member of staff seemed not to care at all and we felt like we were an inconvenience. Our room was not ready, supposed to be ready at 3pm and we arrived around 4:30pm. We were told to wait as it was still being cleaned, but were given no apology or explanation. We waited until 5pm and went back to the desk to be told it was now ready. I asked why it wasn’t ready and was given a shrug of the shoulders and told “well it’s ready now”. I asked why it wasn’t ready though, and if I was going to get an apology, but was given a blank look and silence and handed the key. The place itself seemed run down, carpets in the corridors were stained at most room doorways. The redeeming features were that the bed was comfy and the staff member on the desk at check out was far friendlier. Wouldn’t be back in a hurry though.

The hotel was able to accommodate the addition of a travel companion by offering us the last room that happened to be an accessible room. Although neither of us are disabled, we welcomed the room with 2 beds. The room was spacious, as expected, clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.
However, we noticed the shelf where the towels are placed is at least 5'10" high. It's fine for abled people but not for someone in a wheelchair.Upon checkout, I commented on this to the person at reception and he wasn't bothered in the least. To be blunt, I gave zero cares. Didn't even attempt to offer a "we'll speak with maintenance".
Says a lot about what this person (and maybe the hotel) feels about making their hotel truly accessible.

It was a pleasant surprise how roomy it was. I always like Hampton Inn and this was the best stay ever. Very pleased for a night after a cruise and quick to the airport the following morning.

Pros: close to George Bush airport, 24 hour free shuttle bus to/from airport, no issue with late check-in (3am), clean room, modern bathroom, excellent shower, good breakfast, late check out (12pm instead of 11am) free of charge, good price for room.
Cons: have to phone hotel to request shuttle bus, which we couldn’t do from our UK mobile phones, so had to spend $37 on a taxi. Given a different room to the one booked (1 double bed & sofa bed we had to open out ourselves instead of 2 double beds and sofa bed we paid for - no refund offered). Had to ask for extra towels as room only had enough for two people (we’re a family of 5). Air con is effective but so loud we had to turn it off to be able to sleep, so it was a bit hot & sticky. A lot of noise from planes taking off all night (should have expected this in an airport hotel but thought the windows might be more soundproof). Due to room change, cleaning staff weren’t aware our room was occupied and kept trying to open the door which woke us up repeatedly and was scary. Front desk staff were obviously unhappy/put out when we requested the shuttle back to the airport in the morning.

Friendly staff greeted us. Room was spacious and clean, though the carpet felt damp, maybe due to Houston’s high humidity, we just left shoes on. Noisy as usual since at the airport. However we would definitely stay again.
