Many appreciate the hotel's ambience, friendly staff, and the expansive rooms. However, reviews reveal some inconsistencies in cleanliness, with reports of unclean bathrooms and rooms requiring a change. It was a great experience. I travel to Lubbock often and was always told the Overton was the hotel to go to. It was our first time there and we were very impress to its ambience and staff. The view was amazing to see the TT stadium and the city. A quick walk to the university, shopping and nearby pubs. Very classy. Would like to return in the future.

The parking for handicap was completely full. As we are handicapped. There was some kind of venue going on and we had to park really far from the entrance. The shelving by the window in our room was diety and sticky. The bathtub was rusty and wasn't very clean. We expected a much cleaner place considering the price we paid. Heard so many nice things about this place. The only thing nice was the desk clerk and the lobby was very nice. Will not stay here again.

Great dining and drink options. The staff is a bit slow so the wait takes a bit to get food. The room was very clean and comfortable, we had a city view which was pretty at night. It is expensive I will say, considering how old everything seems. Some of wood the furniture in the room is splintering off or has damage from previous tenants or wear and tear. Just because of how expensive it is a night I may try a Hilton the next time I travel to Lubbock to compare the two.

Staff were all friendly and service-oriented. Very good restaurant and bar with good live music. Free airport shuttle. Good location near Texas Tech and downtown restaurants. However, our room was not clean and we had to move to another room, which was somewhat better but still not up to the standard of comparable hotels. The tubs were rusted in multiple places in both rooms. To the hotel’s credit, the staff responded quickly and professionally to the problems.

The first room they tried to put us in had such a horrible sewer smell that they gave us a different room. Absolutely filthy. The shower was so disgusting we needed to wear shoes. Black grime appears to have never been cleaned out of the grooves on the bottom of the fiberglass shower pan. Cloth curtain that appears to have never been cleaned. Thankfully it did not blow in on us when we had to shower. Literally every surface of the room appeared dirty to the naked eye. I would advise you not to touch anything. We tried hard not to. Pillows are tiny throw pillow size wrapped in standard pillow cases. Searched for bed bugs and by the grace of God we don’t have bites after our one night stay. Parking lot and building are not secure and roving college students from the local bar were in the parking lot. Trash and beer bottles litter the ground. Cigarette smoke smell even though the building is supposed to be smoke free. Two sheets on the bed with no adequate cover. Wi-Fi is not free!!! Seriously. The only reason we endured the night was because we were so tired from our drive from Florida. Never again. Don’t believe any positive review.

Property very clean and staff friendly, convenient location and parking, I would stay here again. I don’t recommend the restaurant for dinner-price did not meet the quality of the food/service.

Pros: parking is free, close to texas tech, room service, bar downstairs Cons: kids working at the front desk don't really know what they're doing, tub very slippery, water pressure in sink wierd ( it spurts and makes wierd noises). If you are just staying for a night or 2 it works.
