SureStay Hotel by Best Western Seaside Monterey

Room was very small and poorly lit. The AC was very loud and musty smelling. Unfortunately the bathroom door did not close all the way so there was very little privacy. Beds were ok, but the floor was dirty. The parking was tight, but the breakfast was adequate.

We arrived at the check-in desk and no one was in the office for about 20 minutes , then an Indian lady came over with no knowledge on check-in and called the front desk person and he showed up after another 15 minutes waiting. This is the first time in our years of travel that no one serving at the hotel front desk for half hour during business hours.

Our family completely enjoyed the two rooms with King beds. It was clean, felt safe, was close to Monterey Bay Aquarium, parking was great and breakfast was good. We plan to stay here next time.

Loved the layout of our room. We had 3 beds for our family of 5, with a door in between our room and the kids’ room. We also had 2 TVs, which prevented many arguments. 2 sinks- having one in the kitchen area was very nice for washing our eating utensils and produce. Walkable distances to good restaurants. Many great restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Close to beaches. Access to a washer/dryer was a plus. Clean, inviting outward appearance with great parking and a beautiful tree. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downfalls were loud traffic, and a suspicion that someone had urinated in our heating unit. Luckily we didn’t need to use the heater very much! One other thing we would have liked was a mirror in the kitchen area. Overall, we would give the property 4 out of 5 stars.

The room has thin walls easily transferring every sound into the room. Also the bright lighting comes into the room. This combination makes it difficult to sleep.

My partner and I stayed here over the weekend. The breakfast option have plenty choices. The staff are very easy to talk to and friendly. The parking was good.

Was a little disappointed when checking in. I literally arrived about 20 minutes till check-in and was told I could not check-in for another 20 minutes. I drove about 4 hours to get there and I was surprised that they couldn’t give me the courtesy of checking in 20 minutes early. Was told they were sold out the day before but the parking lot was empty on a Sunday afternoon. Had to go accross the street where my parents and my brother stayed to freshen up and they had no problems checking in 20 minutes early. Other than that the facilities were clean and kept up.

It is a run down hotel, it is not just dirty on the inside but the outside is unkept. The refrigerator had some black stuff in it and it smelled. On the second night we could hear the noise coming from a Tv since 3:30 in the Am. Awful experience, the worse in all my years traveling.

Nice enough, to not feel like your going to die, rooms are well used and could use new floorings. Walls are so thin you hear everything and parking is crowded. Glad I was only here 1 night. The “breakfast” was eggos and a broken juice machine. If your looking for the ghetto of Monterey… this is it

The property in is a good area. I liked that it was super clean, had adequate parking, the linens were clean and in good condition, it was actually quiet at night and close to transportation. The girl who helped us at check-in was very nice and informative. I prices are extremely reasonable. I will be staying here again and recommend it to all my family and friends.
