Rodeway Inn Macarthur Airport

This inn worked well for us. We don't want a lot of bells and whistles out of a hotel. We needed an affordable, solid place to stay for 1 week. Our linens were checked on daily, the TV worked well (even the guide was accurate!), parking was easy and free, simple access to main roads, close to beaches, and I felt as if I could ask for help if I had a problem/question. I would definitely stay here again if I need to return next year.

Pot holes in parking lot. Smell of smoke in blankets. Feel of the motel was sleezy Leather desk chair was ripped Positive point Was only 16 minutes from Sayville.

Good parking and was clean and safe

I liked the fact that it was near the airport. It was fairly quiet, except for the few loud cars on Veterans Hwy. I really didn’t care too much for the television reception. The office staff were very nice and helpful.

Front desk is completely enclosed in plexiglass including a lock-type chamber for the credit card machine. An audio vent to hear the attendant and a small space to slide a pen or paperwork through underneath. Felt like I was visiting someone in prison, not very welcoming. The rooms are extremely outdated with full-sized beds, not queen beds. We were in a "non-smoking" room but the outdated rugs were riddled with cigarette burns. Cigarette smoke smell was strong - we feel it was coming in through the ventilation system. I don't think the room was smoked in recently. Only a heavy curtain over the window, so people from outside would be able to see right in the room if you opened the curtain for light. A sheer curtain would have been nice to brighten with daylight The bedding was clean, but I slept in my clothes and didn't dare walk on the carpet without my shoes on. The toilet wouldn't flush. We didn't realize this until the very early morning when we noticed paper still in the water from the night before. Very unpleasant experience. I have NEVER checked out of a hotel as early in the morning as we did here. Other guests were extremely loud, slamming doors, kids screaming and running down hall. There must have been a wedding or celebration as many guests were dressed in native costume and singing (which seemed very loud when in a public hallway) and outside the windows in parking lot. We won't be back. I'd rather sleep in my car

Check in after hours complicated and un friendly. Room smelled of tobacco smoke. Probably in ac filter and carpet . Room nicely updated but for the price I will stay elsewhere. No airport transportation or suggestion for all a local car service.

Location was great. Very noisy in parking lot & surrounding street.

It was the worst place I have ever stayed! I requested a non smoking room on ground level and was out in a second floor blind stairwell smoking room that was HELL! the outlets didn’t work, the desk chair was stuck in the lowest position. No TV/Cable because something was stolen. No vending machines thin towels, ugly room. Was able to change rooms on day 2. Had to keep blings closed as the view was the parking lot. Moved car each day to the spot under the light by the office to keep it from being broken into. Building 2 100% better than building 3 which was an absolute hell - hole. Will NEVER book through hotels.com again. I’m pretty easy to please, and have no problem sleeping on my car at rest areas. This place was worse! Second room 100% better and staff was exceptionally nice. Huge difference between building 2 and 3. Building 3 should be leveled - completely inappropriate to charge anyone to stay in those rooms!

First off the area where this hotel is located in seedy at best. The deal has a bullet proof partition that is 1 inch thick, this did not make me feel safe right off the bat. Although the desk clerk was accommodating it was difficult to hear him through the thick glass. Next was parking by the room, as soon as we pulled into a spot my wife and I noticed a car full of unsavory looking people and they were smoking crack. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable. We then proceeded to the room and although it appeared clean as soon as we turned on the light to the bathroom we noticed cockroaches scurrying around. My wife went to wash her hands and got burned because there was NO COLD water only hot. We immediately went to the front desk to get a refund. The desk clerk insisted he needed to see our complaint and made me wait while he went to check. He came back and informed us he had called the police for the drug users in the parking lot and then issued me a refund for the room. Please DO NOT STAY here EVER!!!! Unsafe and dangerous.
