Hotel was very convenient to the airport and they have a great shuttle service for early morning flights. The room was clean and provided all that was needed for our stay.

Staff friendly but forgot my backup wake up call. AC didn’t work so opened the window, otherwise room big and clean. Enjoyed the Crabtree skin care products. Needed 4:00AM shuttle which was smooth and on time.

I felt safe. I liked the security person at the gate. In spite of being so close to the Oakland airport, we NEVER heard any airplanes!

I chose to stay here because I have an early morning departure. Reviews said it was newly renovated and Hilton is a decent brand. It is also very close to the airport.
Upon check-in I asked for a room close to the front. I was given a room on the second floor, across a bridge, and all the way at the end of the corridor. When I opened the door, the carpet was filthy. It looked like gum was stuck in it, and there were stains everywhere. There was also a bad smell, like warm pickles. I went back to the front desk and asked for another room. This time I was assigned a room just off the lobby on the first floor. Why wasn't I given this room in the first place? I requested something close.
Bad start aside, the second room was better. I needed to drop my car at a nearby long term parking facility and the front desk clerk told me to call for the shuttle to pick me up. No sooner had I dropped off my car, the shuttle was there. The driver had radioed to say he was headed back, and the clerk asked him to stop and get me. I really appreciated it, very thoughtful. The driver was really nice.
All in all, it is a mixed bag. I would give the property a 7 out of 10 for cleanliness and appearance. It does not look newly renovated. Overll, the staff were very nice aside from my original request being completely ignored and then accommodated.

The Hilton brand name and the photos included indicate that this should be a clean, maintained place to stay— it is not.
Front desk staff was very kind and efficient but is the only single item I can say was good—or even acceptable—about this property.
While surfaces of my room had been wiped down, nothing about my room felt clean: the carpet was stained in many spots, the window had handprints and drips all over it, there was no fitted sheet (just a flat sheet that did not cover the entirety of the mattress and had holes in it), one of two chairs had a large stain and hair in the bathtub. And then there was the smell: which was so overwhelmingly strong— a combination of old and new cigarettes and wet carpet. It was so strong, it was notable on my clothing and hair when I left the next morning.
The elevator has a sign that is marked as out of order but a fellow traveler I was with was told it could be used: he did use it and said that the smell within was so unpleasant that he was gagging the entirety of his short ride. The halls were as unclean as the rooms, though some of the smell was masked by the signature Hilton scent.
Finally, there was a very distinct feeling that it was unsafe. The gated entry, the notes on backs of room doors notifying that all cleaning staff had been equipped with panic buttons, and just general feeling all contributed to me feeling strongly compelled to leave. I honestly did not because I didnt want to go into common areas again.
