Econo Lodge Cranston - Providence

July 14, 430am Econolodge parking lot **************************** My wheelchair-bound partner and I are sleeping in my truck in the Econolodge Cranston parking lot while the room we reserved sits empty, safe and air-conditioned. I made reservations with Hotels.com and we were good to go. However, complications at the hospital and then car trouble made 3pm check-in impossible. I notified Hotels.com and they forwarded the message to Econolodge Cranston stating that I would not be able to check in until after midnight. Again, good to go just getting there later. We drove 200miles and at 230am, exhausted, the night manager told me my reservation was canceled. He then made it clear he was done with me and refused to pursue any possible solution. The solution was obvious... The room was unoccupied and the original customer was standing in the lobby, credit card in-hand. The night manager said several times that "the room was not occupied", then followed up with, " You can not have it because your reservation is canceled" Can anybody there describe the successful business model that aligns with or supports those two statements? Anybody? You, in the back row? Bueller? Anybody? The property was informed that I would be late but canceled my reservation anyway? Why? And why wasn't I notified? We did everything right and Econolodge/Choice Hotels put us out in the street.

Very convenient travel for work and never unhappy when I stay

The place looks amazing at the renovations I travel a lot for work and I have a lot of workers who travel with me always have a great experience at this location

This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I have had, and I am a seasoned travelor. This was a business trip for a few days. The room had no hot water. The paint ws peeled from the walls, the heater in the room never shut off when the desired temperature was reached, the room was dirty and was really in deplorable condition. The service was also terrible. The manager/owner obviously takes no pride in this property by not even apologizing for this said state of affairs but instead acts as thisbis business as usual.

Hotel was a little difficult to find being on a road that was separated by curbs. I had to make several illegal U turns to get into parking lot. Room was large and clean. There was a lot of noisy traffic most of the night but the hotel is right on the street so that is expected. Checkout is 11:00 and while gathering my bags to start packing up to leave at 9 am, there was a man - room cleaner - standing at my door when I opened it asking if I was leaving… felt creeped out rushed.

I reserved a king bed smoking room. I called to confirm and asked ifthe doors to rooms were inside or outside. I let them know i was traveling alone and wouldn't feel safe with an outside door to the parking lot. They confirmed said all doors were inside hallways. NOT TRUE!!!!! When i checked in, the front desk he seemed concerned. He made a call and just kept responding to the person he called with hm, hmm. I was given the key card to rm. 130. Upon finding the room it wasmground level, door directly to the outside!! The door had to be shoved open with force to open. The curtains hadmeither human poop, or chocolate all over them. Tub was so dirty! I wiped it down with bleach. When i got in the bottom of the tub felt thin and i felt like i was sinking into the floor. It was spongy. The Fawcett in the sink was not attached! You had to pull up to turn on, when you do the whole thing lifted up! And sprayed sideways too. Neighbors got loud at 9:30 pm. Bedspread had some white hard stuff on it. I traveled from Maine for a funeral, this was the most depressing, disgusting, unsafe room I've ever seen. I use to work at motels. This is beyond substandard. It also had no battery in the smoke detector, the door was still open. And the wall outlets were all half hanging off the walls. My phone wouldn't charge! I was worried id miss the funeral. Id like some actual feedback from this establishment. I do not blame housekeeping, the surfaces were clean.

The staff was very very nice. Our frig didn't work and they gladly replaced it.. otherwise though the room is just not clean. Floor and bedside table sticky and dirty. Its dingy. The bed is about as thin of a mattress and pillows that they can get away with. And overall the property is just run down. There is a really good local restaurant close by Chelo's. It's close to the airport and that's why I picked it. We are only here for one night and I'm glad about that. The reviews, if they were even real- were mixed. We are generally not picky but I probably wouldn't stay again just because it feels unclean.

Checked in and was told , we don’t even give that price - we don’t have what I requested , didn’t know why they offered it .. toilet didn’t flush . Bed covers looked unwashed …worst in the last 15 years of travel . Needs a lot of work but the owners are bare minimum to stay open .

Nice place to stay, friendly staff, helpful, no stairs and easy access, economical compared to other hotels nearby, and very close to the airport.

Check in was easy and the staff members were very friendly. Room was a decent size it was clean. Furniture was very old and used (scratched surfaces everywhere). TV was ok needs updating. Outside of hotel was dirty broken window panes everywhere didn’t look like the picture at all. Breakfast was a juice machine and a coffee machine. It more like sugar water.. Lucky it is close to restaurants and dining so didn’t have to travel far for breakfast.
