Overview

The Hilton Garden Inn Rochester Downtown offers a convenient location for those attending events at the Blue Cross Arena or Eastman School of Music. Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, who go above and beyond to assist with requests such as providing practice space. The hotel also provides a shuttle service, though some guests have noted concerns about the parking situation, describing the attached garage as confusing and requiring a walk, potentially through an area perceived as unsafe, and occasionally leading to payment issues. While some found rooms to be well-maintained and spacious, others have mentioned issues such as heat control, cleanliness, and overall room conditions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Arrival signage would be helpful-where to park while checking in/etc. The City owned parking situation caused confusion for several guests. The city employed garage attendant seemed more intent on giving folks a hard time as opposed to just simply being helpful when asked. The hotel elevators seemed to make excessive noise that we had not experienced anywhere before. Due to our rooms proximity to the elevator, it was unavoidably noticeable most hours of the day (every time anyone called for an elevator, we knew it). We were there during what we understood to be an abnormal heat wave. The elevator area and hall to our room was quite hot during the day (quite warmer than outside).

The parking garage needs better signage and better markings to identify where cars are parked and where the entrance to the hotel is.

Great place to stay for our daughters Rochester graduation weekend! Right in the city so very close to all downtown restaurants and corporate area. Be sure to keep the paper parking pass that they give you upon check-in. The garage is run by a different company and they get a bit surly if you need assistance exiting the parking garage. Other than that, great stay!

If you’re attending a concert at the Blue Cross Arena it is in the perfect location! Parking is available and a parking pass is given with the room. Staff were friendly and check-in/check-out was extremely easy and quick.

The room was cold and there was no place to turn heat up. They charged me $293.67 Expedia quoted 258.86 Coming out of parking garage was suppose to be free. When we left Sunday morning at 6:45am I had to pay $10 to get out of garage. We checked out before leaving. Room was cold and we could not put heat up.

We were impressed with this hotel! We were in town for my son to visit Eastman School of Music. Upon check-in, the desk clerk saw his instrument and asked if he was auditioning. He explained he was just visiting this year, and she immediately offered him access to practice space within the hotel and gave us vouchers for free breakfasts that I guess are generally offered with a package if students are there for auditions. This was the first hotel we've encountered in our travels that has the opportunity to sign up for practice space! They also texted us a few times throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable -- a nice touch. I found staff generally very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good -- not exceptional, but decent -- and we were comfortable overall. I will say that even after turning the heat up in our room, it was difficult to get warm (very high ceilings), and the bedding was very thin so I would have preferred to see extra blankets in the rooms for guest use. Also, we weren't aware there was an airport shuttle until after we arrived; would have liked to know that ahead of time! And it seems to only go one way, as when I texted the desk the day before our departure to ask about recommended ways to get back to the airport, they suggested I use Uber. Not a problem, just a tiny thing that I feel could have been better communicated to guests. We'll definitely stay here again when we return for auditions next year!

We reserved a suite with two queen beds and a pull out as we we traveling with our 3 sons. Upon arrival they said they were overbooked so could not give us the room we had reserved. Instead we stated in a small room with two beds that wasn't ready until aft 8 PM. Our other so and his team the Las Vegas Desert dogs were staying at the hotel as well, hence the reason we booked at your hotel. They gave us vouchers for the bar but it was closed when we returned from the game. Made for a very disappointing and uncomfortable stay in Rochester.

The staff was very accommodating helping with a practice room for preparation for auditions at Eastman School of Music. Our room was in great shape, bathroom was exceptional. Thanks for removing one of the stressors traveling to an audition can bring.

Customer service was excellent! very friendly, going out of their way to help with anything. Appreciated the shuttle service accessibility. Was disappointed with parking process, was given barcode to scan to get in and out and sometimes it worked sometimes it did not. They recommended to take a picture of it and had same issues. Not being able to get in and out of parking garage is not something guest should have to be concerned about. Strongly recommend better process be developed. Once I called for help, parking person did come over right away so that was very helpful.
