Hyatt Regency Rochester

Clean room & very comfortable beds. A little noisy but I’m a light sleeper. Was in town for an event at the convention Ctr. Very convenient to have covered access to the convention directly from the hotel and convenient parking too.

Was definitely not worth the price. Looked a bit aged and rundown, no shuttle from/to airport, no breakfast, locker didn't work, hot water didn't work (but was fixed quickly) , no concierge, front desk not very helpful, except for one person, no bell hop help. For $300 I paid per night I expected more!

Pros: Views (request river view), wood floors (although felt sticky at times), size of room (should reorganize furniture to make room more functional - lots of empty space, great hotel staff, affordable on-site parking, responsive to requests, great location, nice lobby, restaurant on site and food options Cons: shower head (needs to be cleaned and nozzle needs to be fixed), shower space needs to be updated (felt gritty), need more outlets in the room (outlets on dresser did not work), need more lighting, restaurant staff (service needs improvement)

I didn’t like to pay for the parking because I’m already Guest in the hotel plus there’s nothing in the fridge to drink

If going to ESM and/or business is a a good option. If traveling for leisure it is impersonal, nothing interesting to do at the hotel, dull bar, boring place.

This property was disgusting. Bodily fluid stains on the couch, sticky spots on the nightstand, hair on the wall of the shower, mildew stains on the pillowcase, unidentifiable smears on the headboard and the wall behind the TV. The bed was uncomfortable, there were no curtains, only damaged and inefficient blinds that did not block light whatsoever. Location was good, staff was friendly, and there was a parking garage, which are the only positives. We travel frequently, and this was the most filthy property we’ve stayed at.

The staff honestly could not have been nicer so none of this is their fault. The hotel is pretty run down for a Hyatt. The room was worn and dirty. Scratches on the furniture. Holes in the chair. The elevator didn’t work so we had to walk 5 flights to get our car from the garage. Not easy with luggage and a stroller. We paid for the breakfast and the whole situation was so sad. It was a makeshift buffet with stale pastries and most of the trays were empty. They had a regular kitchen toaster and toast and bread for everyone eating there to use. There was one poor guy working there and he was waiting tables, seating people, cleaning, and I think even making the food. They advertise Starbucks but it definitely shut down and they opened a more disappointing coffee bar. The front desk had a pile of boxes stacked around a random corner. Apparently maid service is upon request but we were never told that so nobody made up our room the first day which took us by surprise. I’d stay somewhere else if you can.

My husband and i stayed here for a conference being held in the ballroom. Keep in mind, breakfast is not included but reasonably priced compared tp other hotels. Only complaint is that our room was not well lit (small desk lamp and small, mounted lights between beds). Doors into lobby from public parking garage are locked at certain times and only accessible with room key and security is prompt to deal with unwanted individuals.

For a large name brand, very disappointed. Hard to find the entrance to the hotel and parking was not straightforward, bathroom cold water did not work and ceiling was stained. Toiletries were very poor quality. Advertised hotel restaurant was closed and only the bar had food for dinner. Pool was closed and room did not have a tub.

We have stayed at the Hyatt before and enjoyed it but it didn't seem like they had good management during our stay. As a hotel brand, we would would expect dining and transportation options, even if it was a holiday (Thanksgiving). We when we purchased the tickets, we were promised transportation from the airport, dining and bar options. There was no shuttle at the airport, the lobby bar closed at 8PM, as any dining options including room service.
