Holiday Inn Express Rochester - University Area, an IHG Hotel

Highly motivated staff from their own character and personality....not from management. Alot of like minded families with alot of of different cultures....so respect and kindness were abundent. Everyone felt at ease and safe. I have traveled alot, this place for the price is very high value in return. Five stars

When we arrived to the hotel we were told that there was a flood in the hotel and that there were only 6 rooms in the entire hotel available. Then we were told that there was a glitch in the system and that my reservation that was for 2 queen beds for 4 adults was now switched for 1 king and a cot. We left to go get food and go to our meeting and when we later returned, we came back to a full parking lot with parents and kids galore for a sporting event trying to check in where we were told they only had 6 rooms and we couldn't get the room we booked. There was hair in the shower and the sink and the staff were friendly at all. I used to come here all the time when i come here for business but the quality of the hotel and staff has gone down very drastically, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We like the consistency of the Holiday Inn Express hotels we’ve stayed at as we travel cross-country. Reliable cleanliness and nice staff and LOVE the comfy beds and good breakfasts!

Granted that we arrived amid a storm, there was no parking space because of all utility trucks in the park lot. So, I just parked near the lobby. It was about passing midnight when we arrived, tired and just wanted to get to the room so we could just crashed. The front desk then asked if I received an email from them regarding about moving to another hotel. The answer was "No". The front desk staff then grabbed the phone disappeared, reappear, and then disappeared again. After awhile, the front desk person reappeared, apologized, and informed me that they had a leak on the 4th floor, and had the evacuate the whole floor. Then, she informed me that the room I requested with 2 queen beds wasn't available, there was only 1 room left with a king bed. The keys were handed to us and we proceeded to the 5th floor. We tried to open the room with the provided keys without success and then we were shock when someone from the inside opened the door and asked us if we needed help. Thank goodness that the person in the room was not angry and was not hostile. We apologized and told her happened and quickly left. We went downstairs and the front desk person said she didn't even know that room was occupied. Now, she gave us the keys the 4th floor that she said earlier that the whole floor was evacuated due to some leak. We were tired and didn't feel like giving sh*t to people. The whole thing was very unprofessional. I did wonder if we weren't wanted there.

Not much parking and beds were a little hard but all in all this place is nice and amazing

This property was close enough to the airport and worked for us as we booked last minute, right before a Bills game. The room and facilities looked really outdated and cleanliness was questionable. Hot water took forever and shower handle was installed backwards. Overall, our stay wasn’t horrible but not sure I would book again.

We stayed overnight for a concert at blue cross arena. uber rides were easily available and the ride was less than 10 min away. Rooms were very clean, clean bedding and towels, and parking lot seemed safe. Overall a great stay!

Stayed for 2 nights with our friends. Loved that the parking was free and ample, breakfast was abundant and there was access to a pool and fitness facility. My only gripe is that our room could be cleaner. The floors had crumbs and broken pieces of a hair claw that my son kept stepping on. Other than that, it was a good stay.

It’s our second time staying at this hotel. We loved it the first time in the winter, and came back over from Canada to stay with them and woke up the next morning with our license plate stolen, and a police card on the windshield. We talked to the hotel and were told they never heard of this. We called the police, he was kind enough to come back and bring us back the police record. Police officer then informed us he tried to come in and look for us and the hotel didn’t know who it belonged to which we wrote it down for them so that’s a lie. then informed the hotel about this and they told us, oh yeah it’s been a normal occurrence and later to find we were one of 3 vehicles with plates stolen. Hotel didn’t do anything to accommodate or even apologize. Horrible, I will never return and I recommend you don’t if you are from out of state (especially Honda or Kia cars- those cars are being stolen from out of their parking lot police said)
