La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio Airport

I recently stayed at La Quinta for three nights, and while there were some positives, the overall experience was disappointing. The check-in process was very quick since I had filled out the online form beforehand. I would recommend completing the online check-in to make the process smoother. However, the room itself left much to be desired. While somewhat clean, it was clear that the hotel is old. Parts of the ceiling were chipping away, and there were concerning brown stains in the bathroom. The air conditioning worked but had an annoying habit of turning off and on every few minutes, making a noise that became bothersome after a while. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were adequate. I didn’t use the hotel’s amenities like the pool, gym, or Wi-Fi. I chose not to use the Wi-Fi since it was open and unsecured, which I don’t recommend for anyone concerned about privacy. We attempted to try the complimentary breakfast on Saturday, but it was too crowded with a long line, so we had to skip it. The room itself was quiet, aside from the AC, and we didn’t encounter any noise issues from other guests, which was a relief. The location is definitely a plus if you’re flying in or out, as it’s conveniently located just across the freeway from the airport. However, despite being budget-friendly at $100 per night, I still found the price high for the quality of the hotel and overall experience. This use to be a nice hotel, but it has become worn and run down. The elevator floors need replacing, the walls need new paint, & the carpets need a good cleaning or replacing. Housekeeping needs to check the level of the shampoo and body wash. In our room, both were empty! It is convenient to the airport and restaurants. They offer airport shuttles. We probably will look elsewhere to stay the next time we are in SA.

Hotel staff were great. The airport shuttle driver even offered to take me to the airport early so I would have plenty of time. One recommendation,as pets are allowed, would be to have a designated pet area outside for pet deposits.

I love the location because it’s super close to the mall, Super close to the airport, which is important to me The staff is super friendly here, The hotel there is rooms that are renovated and also rooms that are not renovated. I have stayed here multiple times and I don’t mind either one of them. They are both fine for me.

Liked convenient close to the airport dislike dirty under construction

Room was late to be cleaned as check in was delayed. No body wash in the room. The overall facility was dirty and many staff members were standing around doing nothing. The checkout was even worse as the front desk staff was asked for a shuttle to the airport. Online it says 24/7 airport shuttle. The shuttle driver as asleep on the couch in the main area then told me if he was to do his job he needed a tip. I asked how much is this tip, in return he asked for 20 dollars. Got a Lyft instead for 6 dollars. This was an overall terrible stay and I will personally never stay here again. The staff should be ashamed of their behavior and whoever is the manager of this place should start firing employees. There was nothing good about this hotel at all.

After 40 years of being on the road traveling for my job, this was one of the worst hotels I’ve even been in. So bad we checked out without staying. Dirty. Horribly maintained and roaches in our first room and then the next one they put us in. Elevators were malfunctioning and AC in hallways didn’t work.

I usually stay at this property because it is conveniently located near the airport. The breakfast is the same every morning….Eggs, sausage links, toast, mini muffins, tea, coffee, juices, variety of instant oatmeal packets. Not bad. I would like if they had different bread selections, maybe croissants or danish pastries. The staff is awesome. Always service with a smile. They are working on some upgrades so there was a tiny bit a mess here and there. Not a problem. They do not clean your room like hotels used to do. Now you have to tell them the day before. It’s fine with me. And if you need anything replaced, the front desk people will give it to you, no problem. Overall, this is my go to hotel. I would recommend it.
