Ramada by Wyndham Sioux Falls Airport-Waterpark & Event Ctr

It was our 40th anniversary and thought this would be a decent hotel since most hotels near airports have been great from our experience. The halls were very hot (this was in September), the chlorine smell was so strong, it permeated our room. It affected our health conditions so badly, we checked out a day early. The overnight staff did not man the front desk. Trash in hallway was still there after 32 hours. Manager was never available and had to contact Expedia/Hotels.com to resolve issue. As of this posting, we have to wait 24-72 hours for Expedia/Hotels.com to hear back from Ramada's manager - who was never available during our stay. Aside from a gentleman who was outside when we checked out and the young lady who checked us in, staff was not exactly hospitable, courteous, or professional. One would expect a hotel near the airport would have been more better facility, one not so shabby.

Place was not well cleaned. Toilet didn’t work so bugs were flying around. My brother in law and nephew got stuck in a bathroom and a knife and credit card were used to get them out. The managers response was “at least we got them out.” Never checked on my sister’s family or anything.

The staff were all super amazing friendly and always willing to help! We got dropped off there way before check in so they held our luggage and pointed out some things close by we could til our room was ready. Then we used the airport shuttle the next morning and my husband forgot his wallet in the hotel room but the the staff were so nice and found it right away for us and drove it back to the airport for us! They definitely have top notch customer service!

I wasn’t informed that the restaurant was closed until I had already made my reservations. So we ended up having to eat a meal elsewhere. We did not have a car so we had to call for a lift ride. So it was an extra expense. When we went to the bar to have a beer, the waiter completely ignored us while he helped Serve another patron who came in after we did, but pushed himself in front of us. Other than those two experiences, it was good based on location because we needed to fly out to St. Petersburg the following morning. And the shuttle wasn’t warmed up it was ice cold.

Close to the airport. Coffee machine cost $3.50 for a coffee and didn’t work. When asked at the counter, they didn’t know how to fix it!

Pros: it was a okay for one night stay, free airport shuttle, nice pool/water slide (I didn’t them use them so can’t review) Cons: when calling for their free shuttle for airport pickup, I was kept on hold for multiple minutes. Had to hang up and call again, twice. Finally got through. There was no place to eat at the hotel and nothing is nearby. I walked about 10 min to Rosie’s and had a great breakfast. Fortunately the weather was decent for the walk. While okay for a night I would not stay again.

Unfriendly check in staff… Comp parking was good. Airport shuttle was good.

There were no restraurants open. There was no transportation available to the airport for my early flight. The people behind the desk were indifferent to non caring.
