Baymont by Wyndham Wilmington

We reserved two rooms. One of the rooms we were assigned had not been cleaned and had someone's personal stuff all over it, it was likely still occupied. We were assigned a replacement room which was at least mostly clean. In the middle of the first night someone woke us up by ferociously knocking on the door and trying to get into the room. A few minutes after that we got a call from the receptionist telling us to pack up and move to a different room immediately. We are pretty accommodating travelers, but that was asking too much, we refused as politely as we could. We had to get our key cards reactivated on the second day because they mysteriously stopped working at noon. We asked the daytime receptionist about the incident but they claimed to have no record of it. The rooms were not super clean, smelled oddly bad and had what looked like mold, but we weren't expecting 4-star accommodation. The beds were comfortable, the rooms had a practical desk and a good sized working fridge. The hotel pool looked a suspicious shade of green. We have had a swim in many places, but we did not dare venture into that pool. We knew we were getting a 2.5 star hotel, and we didn't mind that, but we expected things to be a bit cleaner and not having to worry about other people walking into our room in the middle of the night.

I pulled in to the parking lot and knew there was no way I would be staying there. The pictures make it look fine but the second you see the building, you can tell it’s a disaster.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I got there at like 1:30 in the morning after two flights and had to get up early. I got into my room and there were black soot looking stains all over the sheets, there were dead bugs in the bathroom, there was brown stuff on the bathroom floor that looked like poop and the lock wasn't working properly. I went to the front desk and no one was there at the time so I walked over to the hotel next door and got a room. I asked for a refund through Hotels.com and was denied by the hotel. Not only will I not go here anymore, but making sure to tell everyone I know to not go here because it was so awful.

So we stayed here for one night 1st off there was some man sleeping on his truck in the parking lot. A bunch of be hanging out on the deck area in front of the rooms drinking Police where called out here . The room is disgusting. The bath tub had mold growing around it. The floor makes your white socks black and looks like it has not been mopped since the floor was out down. It is on a horrible location with people in and out of the parking lot and also there are people who live in some of the rooms. $105 for one night never again

Front staff was fine. Only nice thing I can say about this place. We rented two rooms, both were filthy, smelled of smoke, mold, and filth, and had numerous issues with the amenities. In the one room, the tv did not work at all, AC barely worked and could not keep the room cool, and dirt and grime was everywhere, including the new "clean" sheets and stained towels. In the second room, the tv would only partially work, the sheets and bathroom were filthy, cracked pictures and damaged lighting, power sockets that crackled and sparked all night, chewed chewing tobacco in both garbage cans, etc. Outside, people seemed to be living long term at the motel. All night there were occupied cars in the parking lot with people walking up and then quickly walking away. Constant movement outside of people walking up and down the halls and parking lot. Felt very unsafe and certainly not family friendly. Wilmington itself, the beaches, etc. Were great, but do yourself a favor and pick any other hotel.

Easy parking, super friendly staff. However the rooms needed deep cleaned, floors made my feet black and walls were disgusting. I honestly just felt super uncomfortable because of how nasty it was. Our toilet didn’t flush right and our bathtub wouldn’t drain well either.

Got there early and the staff were very friendly. I didn't like that Wrightsville charges $5.50/ hour for beach parking everywhere. We were just driving around and never saw free parking. (It is $27.50 for the day.) But the staff at the hotel were great! I had a couple of things I needed to figure out (not room related) and they were very knowledgeable. Less than a mile from the highway, Hooters, Chic-fil-a, Olive Garden. Other places not much further. Did I say the staff was friendly?

Very dirty. Black hair on the white comforter. Profuse smell of beer in room. Cracked sink. Floor had not been swept. People yelling in parking lot. The whole place gave off a vibe of Ick!! It was dirty, smelly and people partying and arguing in the parking lot at night. Never staying here again!!

By far, the WORST place I have ever stayed. The staff are lacking intelligence and/or any type of hospitality. I called at 3pm to let them know we would be there after 12am. I was told I was all good. Got there after 12am. NOT good. Had a zombie worker stare blankly at me stating that no one told her I was coming late & my reservation was now locked. She kept asking if I called & kept confusing who I booked with, had me standing there for 20+ minutes reach out to hotels.com because she couldn't get ahold of her manager. She finally gave me a room & said stop back in the morning. Came back, new zombie, was told I was good for my stay. Went out, came back, was locked out. Went back to the desk, they reactivated my card, no apologies/details as to what happened. Next day, out getting ready for the wedding we were in town for & was called asking why I had not checked out yet (my booking was for another day) This gentlemen was the most helpful of all the staff & he finally fixed the issue but again had to go back to the front desk for another card after being out ALL day for this wedding. The bed was clean and the water in the shower was hot but those were literally the ONLY good comments. The room otherwise was dirty/unmaintained. The sink drain, shower drain, and bathroom door knob, all broken. The arm chair provided was soiled/gross. Moldy fridge. There were also hookers and ppl doing hard drugs in the parking lot. A nightmare to say the LEAST!
