Courtyard by Marriott Columbia Cayce

I just stayed a night with my puppy and it was perfect. The staff was so helpful as I came in with an arm full of stuff and an excited puppy. She checked me in and got me to the elevator quickly because we had been driving for 9hrs at that point. I didn’t hear a soul on my floor even though the parking lot was full so there had to be guests. The room was layer out nicely and roomy for us. The bed was so comfortable we went right to sleep.

It was very clean and nice. Staff was pleasant and professional. The beds however were not very comfortable. It was right off the exit and easy to find. Nice place for an overnight stay while traveling.

We were happy with our room and the overall quality and cleanliness of the property. However, the website claimed there was a bar and a bistro for dinner and breakfast. We chose this hotel based on that as well as our experience with Marriott. After driving 11 hours we just wanted to have a cocktail and dinner and not have to drive anywhere else. And we needed to out early and was planning on a “real” breakfast. Only to find out the hotel is under new management and as such could not open the bar. And in the morning they were not staffed appropriately to deliver the breakfast they advertise. We were left at night to go into town where we had to pay for parking and had a terrible dinner. Breakfast was unacceptable . The coffee was terrible. My point with this is they should not be advertising amenities they cannot deliver. Hotel pricing is based on these services. We did not receive any prior notice or discount. Marriott you can and should do better.

We actually travel with our little dog (14 pounds). So they gave us a “dog friendly” room, not a problem but when we walked in the room and the disenfectant they used was worse then the dog smell, turned on the fan & it was better. Tried to go back out our door and it wouldn’t close, my husband had to really shove it to even get it close. The microwave didn’t work (we brought food to heat up). The rug was all torn up (I guess from the dog that had previously been in there). So we had to watch it so we wouldn’t trip over that spot. Went down to get the continental breakfast and they had these brown paper bags that guests to pick up. It contained a dananimals yogurt (kids yogurt) a muffin and a fruit cup and a bottle of water. Worst breakfast we have ever had. For the price we expected MUCH more (not to mention we had to deposit s non-refundable $75.00 fee for our little dog. Over $200.00 for the worst stay of my life. Needless to say we won’t be going back!!!
