Old school theme fun and different. Staff very congenial and didn't roll his eyes at request for six different checks at our Happy Hour get together. It's a very large facility with a number of entrances. It would be helpful if there were arrows directing guests to the main lobby and check-in. We are senior citizens and had to lug our bags back and forth when coming from parking lot in back, trying to find the front desk and then back again to where our room was located.

I may not have read the room description well enough because I was expecting the minimum of what a hotel should provide: double pane windows, a television, coffee/water in the room, and permanent heat (there was a plug-in space heater, which thank God, blocked the street noise. None of these amenities would have been impacted by the pandemic (and which I would have overlooked). The design decisions must have been intentional to remind people of life in 1916, when the school was built.But for weary traveler with two dogs, this was a disappointing and miserable experience.
