Overview

The Quality Inn Portland Airport PDX is a budget-friendly option that offers convenient proximity to the airport and a free shuttle service, which is frequently praised by guests for its reliability and friendly drivers. While some guests appreciate the comfortable beds and the free breakfast, others highlight significant drawbacks. These include concerns about the cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms, a lack of amenities (such as towel racks, sufficient towels, and an ice machine), and an overall lack of upkeep in the hotel and surrounding area. The neighbourhood has been described as unsafe by several guests, with reports of prostitution and loitering in the immediate vicinity. The hotel is also noted for occasional staffing issues resulting in delays during check-in and checkout.

The hotel itself on the exterior and interior are nice although the neighborhood is shady with prostitutes walking around the neighborhood and at street lights. The hotel is close to the airport which is key for travelers. The room was only provided 2 towels and wash cloths with one hand towel. Most hotels provide 2 per person. The bed was ok but also only 2 smaller pillows per person. Would be better with 2 bigger pillows or 3 pillows. There's a frig and coffee maker in the but no microwave. Breakfast looks good. The continental breakfast is free with fruits, bagels & cream cheese, cereal, self made waffles, yogurt and coffee.

The staff was very nice. They had breakfast and an outdoor pool. The breakfast was a light breakfast which the staff keep stocked. It was close to the highways and airport. The bed was hard for me. I told I could have got a different room and bed. I had to walk up stairs to my room. They have no elevator. They have a shower massage though.

There was no one at the counter to check us in when we arrived. The crew decided to Say they were helping a customer and would be right back when they were really in the restaurant across the street. When we went to check out and get our receipt there was no one at the counter. There were people who had Paid for paring and transport to the airport and there was not driver to take them. We called the posted phone number and no on answered. An off duty employee arrived and he called and got no answer. He would have driven the people to the airport but the on duty person had the key to the shuttle van with him. We waited over 30 minutes to no avail. When we finally left there were about 20 room keys on the counter from customers who could not check out.

This problems with the hotel are too many to list but here are my top 3: 1. Requires a $50 “security” deposit after paying for the hotel…which means they keep your money as long as they want. 2. Horrible electronic systems and and horribly understaffed…the poor clerk was alone, we waited 20 minutes at 10 pm to check in , the room keys did not work requiring the clerk to let us into the room….so we could leave our room to go to our car, we went to check out and the desk clerk was not there. The one staff member, who I think was the chauffeur for the shuttle van, said he did not have the authority to release our $15 security deposit. So we left without knowing if that will be refunded, three. The breakfast that’s included is horrible. It was very Meally stocked, with no one working in the area to help replenish the food. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Short on staff, toilet seat loose, fire alarm needed battery twice, shower curtain on floor, shower faucet wouldn’t shut off constantly dripping, hall door lock didn’t work (people could gain easy access) no plates for waffles, premises in need of paint, airport shuttle body damage missing hub cap, prostitution on site, staff was very nice!

I was stranded during the big ice storm at PDX. Very few hotels had availability. Even the shuttles weren’t running. Thank goodness I got the last room here. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was weathered but clean. It’s not in the greatest neighborhood for a single woman traveler but not the worst. It was a great deal.

This place was absolutely disgusting. There were ants everywhere. The hot water didnt work. The coffee pot was broken. The Tv only has one channel. The bathroom door will only open wide enough to walk in sideways. There are hookers in the parking lot! Very unsafe disgusting place. I would recommend it to my worst enemy.

Nice hotel, just a one night stay after a long flight. Bathroom could have been a tad cleaner (hairs in shower) but overall nice place.
