The hotel staff were friendly and quick to help. The hotel is older and could use some renovations, but overall is clean and met our needs. There is parking like 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel. If you're a woman traveling alone it's not the kind of place you'll want to arrive to after hours because there are a lot of homeless. We didn't have any issues, but we didn't go out after dark.

Checkin was difficult due to limited parking in front of hotel. My room had no soap so I had to go back to the front desk and ask for soap. Fortunately I got the last bar available. Beyond that, it was a good stay. The building and room were in good condition, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. For the price, it was a good choice.

Room was relatively comfortable, but lighting was poor. The furniture showed quite a bit of wear. The bed was comfortable.
The block between the parking structure and hotel was VERY sketchy, and the lot was very dirty, with a lot of tras.

Check in was quick and friendly, parking is kind of a pain being in the garage across the street, but it was free.

First of all hats off to Rodney who is a customer service guru. I had a issue with the initial room I was put in and he made sure I got moved to a More suitable room nearby so I didn’t have to drag my luggage too far and he was very gracious and understanding while doing so. He seemed to be there morning, noon & night (This guy needs a break) but always a friendly smile with good wit and humor. He always greeted me with a friendly good morning or evening. This hotel does not offer many perks or amenities, but it’s good for a basic stay close to casinos, shopping and restaurants. There’s a stadium nearby that has a great firework show after the games. One thing to note, the Parking is offsite across the street and around the corner and there are a number of strange characters that wander around that area so if you’re skittish, you might want to prepare to park on the street and have your car moved by 8 AM (8-6pm) so that you don’t have to pay street parking. My neighbors seem to be part of the local transient scene and probably off some type of substance. I’m not sure, but I believe they were asked not to come back after their little and that made for a peaceful rest of my stay. Other than that, The rest of my day was peaceful. There are some light snacks you can buy in the lobby and they have fresh coffee throughout the day. While I was there, the phones were down and you use your personal cell phone to contact the front Desk, so be sure to get the correct number at check in

I've stayed here three different times now. The rooms are dated and the furniture is pretty worn and shabby. However, I have to say that my bed was surprisingly comfortable and my room was clean. I had to move the nightstand to plug in my phone and it was even clean back there (a complete surprise). The elevators are fast too. It was also very quiet on my floor--especially for a Sat. night. I knew what to expect about the parking situation (no onsite parking); they have an arrangement with the Cal/Nevada casino. Still, it's a little sketchy parking your car at night and walking back to the hotel and the loading/unloading process when checking in/out creates a bottleneck. Not a dealbreaker but it can be annoying. My room did have a nice view of the river and downtown. Overall, it's a decent place to stay--no frills, safe enough, reasonably priced.

Previous comments complained that only one elevator was working; now there are two (of four). I didn’t have to wait more than a few seconds for one, and I was on tge twentieth floor.
Service efficient and friendly enough; room comfortable and only a little bit worn in the bathroom. But hey, only one coffee pod?
Parking is in the Cal-Neva garage directly across the street (south side of 2nd street, entrance on University Way). You’ll get a voucher for free parking there at checkin; just park at or above level 2.
Some homeless folks in the area (as in any town these days) but they were (as is almost always the case) harmless.
No casino on the premises. Yay!

It was very convenient to get in and out. We had to use the parking structure for a different hotel. I didn't mind but my companion had a bad experience one time and was wary. But it was fine. This property was formerly Harrah's. It has not been refurbished. I honestly didn't mind, except I think the room rate was a bit high for a hotel/room that hasn't been updated. Nice staff, decent room, no complaints

I would say that if you just need a place to spend a night, then this would do. Unfortunately, the parking facility is a block away which can cause congestion with guests checking in. Also there was only one working elevator out of four. We stayed on the nineteenth floor so using the stairs wasn't too appealing. The room showed its age, but was comfortable. I did like the location, which is close to the river walk.
