Overview

The Steam Plant Hotel offers a convenient location in downtown Spokane, close to various amenities and attractions. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds and generally clean rooms, along with the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel's unique industrial design and artwork, including the evening projections on the parking lot wall, are often praised. However, several reviews mention significant noise from nearby train tracks, and some guests experience issues with room cleanliness (musty smells, worn linens), and the breakfast is frequently criticised. The hotel provides earplugs, acknowledging the noise issue. Parking is available, but there is a $5 fee and some describe the area as somewhat sketchy.

Very good location right in downtown core. We got free parking for the 2 nights stay and we could use the free EV charging stations across from the street. The hotel is right next to the elevated train tracks which are busy with trains 24 hours. Best to bring earplugs! The breakfast is self serve. There were only 3 bottles of milk on 1st day. No fruit, would be nice to have some oranges. Walking distance to the mall and the park(the Expo 74 site).

Looks a bit sketchy at first glance because of the dark colored facade, but this is a nice place to stay in Spokane. Charged me 5 dollars for parking 1 night. Be quick to get to breakfast in the morning, there's nothing left if you arrive later.

Our TV did not work and I called Emma for help, she couldn't solve the problem. She recommended that a maintenance man would fix it the nexr day. We said, no.... She moved us to another room. We turned on the air conditioner and it had an obnoxious noise.😠 We walked to the front desk and told Emma her response was unkind and acted as if we were burdening her. We asked her to come listen and she responded that would not be able to guarantee that the next would not have the same noise... I said, What is our option? Do you have another Room? Yes, she said but its on the 2nd floor... We said, ok that's fine. Our room was carpeted with a strong scent of animal urine. It was a room for pet owners traveling with pets. We do not have a pet. We feel that she choose that room intentionally to cause us more irritation. Note: it was not busy, as she told us when we asked. It was a Monday, Tuesday for our stay with check-out on Wednesday. Very disappointed and would appreciate some compensationon on our charge of $235 Very Disappointed !

Had to pay for public parking because lot was full. Checked in after 11pm. Many homeless milling about the area and at least one “working girl”. Free breakfast was bagel and cereal but there was no sour cream nor was there any milk. Bed and room was fine but nothing special. Wouldn’t return.

While nothing was amazing it was a good place to get a good nights sleep. Has good parking and a small, yet decent, breakfast.

This is really a motel with all rooms entrances facing the parking lot, but the rooms and facilities were clean and modern. We did hear the train at night but it was not bothersome.

train trestle next to the parking lot and homeless people under it at night. During the day there was a homeless lady cussing and yelling. The carpet needs to go in the room because it smells like human urine on it. Had to leave the door open unless we were sleeping to air out the room even after we sprayed our body sprays in it. The staff was great though.

Standard breakfast. Rooms are very good. Only take away is railroad runs beside the parking lot but it didn’t bother any.

Nobody would call it breakfast looking at what they serve as breakfast. This hotel is over priced for the amenities they offer. Their ac in the room is extremely loud not to mention this hotel is next to the train tracks. Not surprisingly they have your room stocked with foam ear plugs if you find yourself having a hard time sleeping next to a highly active set of train tracks. Also the entrance is steep and narrow. Your vehicle will rub and grind on the ground driving in and out of their parking lot. They also charge you $5 for parking.
