Didnt have my reservation then when they found it it was for the wrong amount of days so we had to switch rooms and they both werent what i asked for bed was so uncomfortable there was no microwave the tv remote had a 10 sec delay my toliet clogged on the first night and the parking situation was awful they only have valet and the parking building next door broke the day we wanted to leave and all the doors were stuck locked it was 645 and the parking management wasnt gonna be there until ten just made my trip so much more stressful and rough than it needed to be

Free local shuttle was great! Very helpful staff.

The hotel was very clean and elegant. Only wish coffee was free and parking could be included in the price.

The only thing i didn't like about this property is that there is no self parking.

The shuttle and valet services were especially helpful for our visit.

The hotel's location was perfect for our group, which was attending the Shania Twain concert. We left the car with the valet and enjoyed a drink and appetizers in the bar area (which is very nice). The room was excellent for our group of three. The hotel shuttle promptly took us to Wells Fargo Arena. Unfortunately, when catching the shuttle back to the hotel after the concert, the shuttles were picking guests up down the block instead of the corner guests were told to stand at; then, the full shuttles drove past us guests standing at the correct corner. Thus we waited probably 30 additional minutes for shuttle service. Leaving the next day, our car was promptly brought by a valet; however, there seemed to be only one bellhop to grab our luggage from our room and take it downstairs. (You don't allow guests to use the luggage rack.) After waiting 30 minutes, we hauled our luggage downstairs. Those were the only snafus. I would definitely stay here again.

Definitely this is one of the most disappointing Marriotts in which I've ever stayed. Staff consistently gave unhelpful or wrong advice. And the area around the hotel, is like a drag racing speedway at night...dozens of cars at all hours revving their engines, and cruising along the nearby streets for no apparent purpose except to annoy people. It wrapped up on the final morning with no staff at the front desk for check-out, and a flippant attitude from doorman who had told us the day before not to bother booking a taxi or Uber because they could give us a free ride to the airport...turned out the hotel shuttles were completely full, no taxis were available, and we had to scramble to finally find an Uber driver who could get us to the airport less than an hour before departure. I'd never choose this hotel again.

Paying for valet service in downtown Des Moines is totally worth the money. Such a busy weekend and we did not have to worry about off-site parking or walking to get our vehicle.

Everyone was absolutely amazing. Valet was quick and respectful, the shuttle driver went out of his way to help us. Shuttle offered great service for our stay, the main bar and restaurant staff were incredibly friendly.
