Holiday Inn Long Island-Islip Arpt East, an IHG Hotel

My family lives in Long Island 6hrs away from me.. we planned a trip to celebrate my grandma’s 95th birthday.. the night before we received a call that she was sick and exposed to rhinovirus and that we shouldn’t come and expose ourselves. I talked to the hotel.com agent who was friendly and tried to refund our trip or transfer our credits to another Holiday Inn closer to us so we could still use it due to unforeseen illness in the family. The hotel was not helpful at all and said that it was non refundable or non changeable. I’m a single mom and really couldn’t afford to throw out $600. Hotels.com told me to cancel so it would not be a no show and they would make a claim.

These last 2 times I’ve stayed at this property is always nice. The problem I have is the side door exiting the property which is closest to my room is never locked or secured by a room key entry. It’s been broken and anyone can enter or exit. It’s not safe at all. I always have to keep a look out behind me when entering through that way when it’s late because there’s never any available parking in front.

We stayed for the night before flying out of Islip in the morning. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable and cozy. There were full size bottles of Dove lotion and hand soap as well as shampoo etc in the bathroom. I don't need the little travel size things hotels usually have so that was perfect. The airport was easy to get to from the hotel in the morning. Two thumbs up!

I dont like the area or the parking

Front staff was awesome. room super clean. Plenty of parking.

The parking spaces were tight but great customer service
