Candlewood Suites East Syracuse - Carrier Circle, an IHG Hotel

we always stay at this hotel it was booked at another one....didnt even know there was another Candlewood in Syracuse And they would not transfer the reservation!!

Could use a bus shuttle to and from the airport. Besides that, everything was great.

I travel frequently to that area with my dog. I have stayed at The Candlewood several times. I am always comfortable there.

I’d stayed many times years ago, but not in the last decade. Noticeably rundown in comparison and the clientele has changed from white collar business travelers to many younger and less professional types. The staff were polite but not the most professional in appearance. I was informed to leave garbage outside the door and staff would pick it up. When we went to our suite the hallways smelled disgusting and trash was outside several doors. We left and went to a business dinner and returned a few hours later and the trash was still out there and the hallway smelled worse. The suite itself was clean, although it could stand a rehab. Scratched furniture and drawers could be touched up for example, ceilings in the bathroom repaired and painted so they didn’t look a dingy yellow. Beds were comfortable, but the AC woke me in the middle of the night with such a loud grinding and rattling that I had to shut it off. Also was very surprised to see that there was not a continental breakfast, although there was coffee 24/7 according to the staff. All in all, not a great stay, not terrible, but for $200 a night after taxes and fees I expected more.

They gave my room away after my flight was cancelled the night before. I want a refund from Expedia or I will never use Expedia again.

The two suites we occupied were very clean and very orderly. Hotel staff extremely helpful. Disappointed though that the gym facility was closed for renovation. Check-in was a little tedious in that I wanted to use a different card for payment and it took a while for the card to be processed and it ended up upon check-out the card I used to reserve the suites was billed, which is what I didn't want. Lastly a little noisy coming from loud vehicles going around Carrier Circle, thumps from dropping things coming from other guest rooms and hotel having grass cut Saturday 9am. Too noisy that early! But all in all the hotel is conveniently located for our travel needs and will return again in the future.
