Studio 6 Suites - East Syracuse, NY – Airport

I know this place is a cheap, budget motel but I’ve had much better experiences at similarly priced budget motels than at this one. I chose it based on the good price and decent reviews, but now I’m questioning how valid those reviews are. This place overall just gives off a sketchy vibe. I think there’s quite a bit of prostitution going on here because there were questionable “couples” walking in from the street pretty often. Also the room next to me was getting it on very loudly when I got there at 4pm, then left and never came back. The hotel is supposed to be smoke-free but the hallways reeked of smoke. Also while my room was mostly clean there were obvious stains on the sheets on one of the beds. The window to my room went to a parking lot and was unlocked so anyone from the outside could have gotten in. Overall I really didn’t feel safe here based on the vibes and people there. I won’t be back here. If you can pay just a bit more somewhere else I would avoid this place.

Motel 6 Suite We have stayed here a couple of times now. It is updated, clean & comfortable, with lots of hot water & towels. The folks are friendly & helpful. There are bright lights & security cameras in hallways & in the parking lot--they are attempting to make sure the property is safe, & we like that. We will stay again.

We stayed in a studio, not a regular room. It was obviously recently renovated. It was freshly painted, & spotless. The furniture was in great shape. The beds were comfy, but the metal bedframes were a bit noisy when you sat down on them, but otherwise great. There was plenty of hot water, & the bathroom was in excellent condition. Big plus: plenty of towels in stock! Appliances were new & in excellent working condition. The parking lot was BRIGHTLY lit. They have numerous cameras in the hallways, parking lot, & common areas & have a huge display behind the front desk for monitoring. I commented on it while checking in, & they said they are trying to be careful with security & safety. We will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Good budget hotel. We only stayed one night but it met our needs. Our room and the common areas were clean and appeared to be renovated fairly recently. Staff was friendly and took an interest in our reason for travelling. A warning - we didn’t realize the door doesn’t self close and accidentally left it open when we left for the evening (but it was our mistake for not making sure it was closed).

Front desk area and the room were both very clean. However, the facility has both smoking and non-smoking rooms. Ours was a non-smoking room, but boy you sure could smell both cigarette smoke and marijuana throughout the building. Also, be mindful that if your on the second floor, you’ll be walking up two flights of stairs in a indoor stairwell.

Was led to believe there was an airport shuttle. Had to spend extra to get an Uber. Not in a convenient location for shopping etc. hard to find assistance. Slipped on wet floor- there were no cones or signs in the hall with a warning.

Low price yes I guess for a 1 night stay before catching an early flight it is acceptable Only 2.5 miles from the airport in a straight line perhaps but it took 13 mins to drive at 430 am on a Sunday

Helpful staff, comfortable updated room, well lit parking lot at night, pet friendly. Biggest drawbacks were no elevator (2 level hotel) and smell of smoke in second floor - about 1/3 or the rooms allowed smoking (of all types) and as soon as you enter the 2nd floor the smell of smoke is undeniable even in our non-smoking room in the other part of the hallway. First floor seemed fine since there were signs posted stating it was totally smoke free. Multiple guests hanging out in the parking lot most times of the day smoking so cigarette butts were scattered around. Served its purpose since we were traveling with our pet.

I booked this stay to break up a long drive (I have fallen asleep at the wheel after dark before). Unfortunately, the first day of travel, I got a flat tire on the interstate and it took a few hours to get it fixed so I could resume the drive. I contacted the hotel and asked (begged) them to cancel as I was very worried about the safety of driving until very late at night. They refused. So I risked my own safety as I could not afford to pay for that room and one closer. I got there and the parking lot was rather sketchy, there were several people just milling about smoking and sitting in cars. I was uncomfortable leaving my car full of stuff there but didn't have a choice. The halls smelled like weed, the room was adequate but they could not provide me with a first floor room as they were close to capacity, which made their refusal to let me cancel even more frustrating. I will be making this same drive several more times but will never stay at this hotel again.
