Mary is a huge asset to the hotel. She checked me in and gave me a much appreciated upgrade so that my extra tall body would fit the bed. She was very sweet and extremely efficient.
My brother sat on his bed so we can discuss our attack plan on the beach area. He felt a very sharp poke. And he actually yelled out. Between the bottom sheet and the mattress pad was a hypodermic needle. It punctured his skin and now we are both concerned. He will undergo the usual blood tests. Hoping it was used for a diabetic, there is no excuse as to how housekeeping didn’t see this. Even if they were in a hurry, this is in them. I did take the needle to the housekeeping manager. Although she didn’t speak a word of English. The lady at the front desk interpreted. The manager stood there in silence, most likely in shock. Unbelievable.
No letter of apology.
No discount on my bill.
Nothing.
Even waving the resort fee and parking at checkout would have been a nice and sincere, “I’m sorry.”
Nothing. The pic of the needle will be included in this review.

We had a wonderful stay. The location was perfect. Close to airport, access to the beach, the pool was great. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The bed was super comfy. Can't wait to return.😊♥️

A great place to stay near the airport. The bathroom sink was a bit shallow, but otherwise, fantastic.

Receptionists at the front desk have horrible attitudes. The one who works the night shift is unpleasant and rude also. Bathrooms have roaches. You have to tackle a cleaning lady to supply you with toilet paper and clean towels. The bathroom door slides and has no privacy. Please note, this hotel has no balconies. The windows are locked shut and are filthy dirty to the point you can barely see out the window.
Positives: beach access- walking distance, right on the strip of San Juan, many restaurants (if you like fast food). PR has become very expensive for tourists so go there with lots of cash and stay away from traveling with cheap people and you will be alright.

My best friend and I stayed at Tryp for six (6) days and five (5) nights during my birthday vacation to Puerto Rico. There were things that we were highly disappointed with, and some things we thoroughly enjoyed. They did not issue a receipt after charging my card for the incidental hold and did not issue my receipt after check out even though I asked for one as I checked out. The first night our flight arrived late so we checked in around 10p and was told about some of the neighboring restaurants that were open which we ended up going to an excellent one that was one or two doors down. Upon returning, we could not figure out how to get back into the property because they lock the front doors and that is not communicated upon check in. My best friend knocked on the door and the security guard came out and was telling her how the front desk wouldn't have opened it and how we were supposed to go through the parking lot entrance after 11pm. How were we supposed to know where that entrance was on our first night and why wasn't it communicated to us when we checked in and the restaurants were mentioned? We also asked for water and was told that they charge for water which is something that should be easily offered to guests especially when staying for so long. The housekeeping staff was excellent and very nice and respectful. The front desk customer service only improved after we complained about how they needed to provide better service to guests and have a retraining.

The rooms were small, but nice and clean. very European… front desk staff was good.
Only problem was the parking. My room wasn’t ready when I got to the hotel but I wanted to park my car and go get food. The front desk staff told me where to park and that it was $15. When I tried to park, the attendant didn’t want to let me in because I couldn’t prove I was staying at the hotel. I showed him my ID and reservation and told him to call the front desk. He finally let me park. The next morning, I turned in my room keys, but the machine wouldn’t take my parking ticket so I couldn’t get out. I hit the button for assistance. The same kid came over and wouldn’t let me out because he said he didn’t know that I’d paid. I told him it was on my room bill and to call the front desk. He walked away and wouldn’t let me out! Luckily, another guest came thru and I was able to follow them out.
Need to have a better system for the hotel and parking to communicate.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and I loved it! It’s conveniently located across the street from the beach, as well as surrounded by restaurants! It’s very close to Old San Juan and the airport too. The staff is very friendly, and our room was spacious and clean. I definitely recommend staying here!!

Great location. Nice property. The desk staff were extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and sights to see. They will also store your luggage in case you have a later flight.
