The only downside to this hotel for us was the lack of carparking. We had to use the excel arena carpark at £25 per 24hrs. It’s nearby but access isn’t great as excel was closed to the public and security staff made people walk around the outside of the arena through the loading areas to retrieve cars. Not safe. Sunborn should make a better arrangement for vehicles, better price, easier access etc.

Th Sunborn is a unique experience, our room was large, on the 1st floor, and easy to reach. Hotel entry is by a quayside lift. It's very close to Custom House station where you can use the Elizabeth Line from Heathrow. Getting to downtown was easy, either by the DLR or Elizabeth Line. Take the breakfast option, it's buffet style. You must get there early to have the Dutch pastries as they run out. There are some restaurants nearby, the Thai place at the end of the Quay has a good curry. The hotel is secure, swipe card access for everything. The area seemed quiet. We barely heard the jets from the adjacent airport through the multi-glazed windows, flights aren't that often. A do Vido shout out to Alex, the clerk who received us. All their staff is friendly but he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome upon arrival. We'd stay here again!

Was fascinated to book this hotel, not your standard hotel but an alternative experience on a yacht.
Just a short walk from Customs House on the DLR and situated right next to the Excel arena.
Perfect in the summer having a drink on the deck with views of the O2, cable cars and a sense of the historic docks, whilst watching the airplanes approach their landings at London city airport.
We booked a cabin and paid slightly extra for river view and would recommend doing so.
Even the cabins were very spacious, elegant and comfortable.
We included breakfast which was of a high standard.
It might not be central London but the experience is worth it.
We went on ones of the sunniest days of the year so whether the experience would be as good on a cold, gloomy, raining day is to be seen.

Be different how about a yacht to stay in, it was amazing with some great views of Canary warf in the distance, it was clean the staff were first class the rooms were so nice and looked great, i was upgraded with a balcony, the place around the hotel is very quiet as there is no major roads nearby, i guess you do get some aircraft flying overhead from London airport but to be honest they did not bother me in fact a sight to see also, when in my room you can hardly hear them. Overall a great experience.

I took my daughter as a surprise for her 30th birthday to the Sunborn Yacht.
We received a friendly welcome in the stunning reception area, and they stored our luggage until check-in time, whilst we had lovely afternoon tea I'd booked prior to arrival. It was £40, but included a cocktail, unlimited tea and coffee, and delicious fresh sandwiches, scones and patisserie.
We were given an upgraded cabin, which was wonderful, and everything we could have hoped for : waterside view and balcony, and amazing view across to the cable car in the distance (only a 5-10 min walk along the quay), O2, and cityscape - stunning with the lights at night.
Our cabin was spacious with a huge bed, fridge, complimentary water, coffee machine, kettle and supplies, sofa, and shower room, all of which were spotless.
Nice toiletries, slippers and gown supplied.
Breakfast was very good, with hot and cold options, and we were lucky enough to get a table with a great view on both mornings.
Travel into the centre of town was very easy...we used both the train, which is very close, and the cable car and uber boat .
The only minor issue was the planes going to or from London City airport nearby, which were close and noisy, and frequent during the day, until ~10pm, but it honestly didn't spoil my stay at all, and when the door was closed the noise was far less.
I'd recommend the Sunborn as a wonderful treat, my daughter was thrilled, and thanks to all the lovely hardworking staff. X

Stayed to attend event at 02. Cable car across was brilliant. Unfortunately the Elizabeth line and DLR were closed for maintenance so had to use Jubilee line then a bus.
The yacht was lovely, rooms are large. Bathrooms very clean. Breakfast had lots of choice, good quality food and plentiful.
My only complaint would be that we returned to the room at 7 as we had a long day travelling and didn’t want to go out. Not sure if the boom boom music was from a private function or just the norm from the bar. It did stop about 9 ish. Our room was very close to the reception area. It was only a tiny annoyance as I wanted a quiet early night.
Would definitely stay again. Ideal for 02 or excel. Great connection from central London on the Elizabeth line.

Lovely yacht. Staff were amazing and friendly. Drinks were expensive even for London. £18 for a cocktail!
Only slight issue if anything is the yacht is under London City flight path very close to the airport so naturally they fly very low to the yacht. They do stop flying around 9pm. So didn't impact our sleep but something to bear in mind if you have young children going to bed early.
Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice.
Yacht is located at docklands to easy to get too using the Elizabeth Line underground. We had an overall very nice stay and would stay again.

I stayed one night after a conference event at the excel centre.
Location was fantastic for the event- super close walking distance to both custom house railway station and the excel.
Had dinner in the lovely sundown bar which had beautiful views of the city. I enjoyed the mushroom tagliatelle which was a huge portion and very reasonably priced at around £16.
My room was close to the reception area which I appreciated as a lone female traveller. It was spacious and very comfortable. I was a little wired after my day and enjoyed a complimentary chamomile tea along with both packs of scummy ginger biscuits and chocolate cookies provided.
Bed was large and super comfy- I had a really good nights sleep. The room was quiet despite being near the reception area.
The shower was hot powerful and roomy and had plenty of shower gel and shampoo. I was grateful for the showercap and cotton buds/pads too!
Breakfast was included and really well done enjI oyed a full English and some maple pecan twists with fresh juice as well as a mocha and a hot chocolate. Delicious
I really enjoyed my stay and plan to come back!
